MY NAME IS JONATHON HOUSE. I ENJOY BEING SURROUNDED BY FUN AND IMAGINATIVE PEOPLE AND WANT TO PURSUE A CAREER THAT ALLOWS ME TO WORK IN A FUN CREATIVE ENVIRONMENT. ALL MY LIFE I HAVE BEEN DRAWN TO ART, SKATE, AND SURF MAGAZINES - I LOVE THE FRESH AND UNIQUE STYLE THAT THEY OFFER. I ENJOY INCORPORATING THESE INFLUENCES INTO MY OWN DESIGN STYLE, WHICH ALSO INCLUDES ASPECTS OF MUSIC AND FASHION. THE FOLLOWING IS WHAT I CONSIDER TO BE MY SEVEN DEADLY SINS OF GREAT DESIGN.
These people are there to offer advice and criticism where it is needed. It could be a person you have studied with, or a client wanting to change certain aspects of a design. These people simply push the boundaries of what I can create as a designer.
I like to surround myself with people that are creative, bold, honest and professional. People who like to travel and share the same interests I do.
FRIENDS ARE FAMILY
“What makes a great designer. Taking everyday as it comes and using that as a source of inspiration.“
Skateboarding
Skateboarding“I consider skateboarding an art form, a lifestyle and a sport.”Tony Hawk
Skateboarding has that unique edge on design and is always pushing boundaries in terms of design. Its pushes boundaries in the way it is conducted, no rules, streets and fun. Every aspects from the style to attitude helps shape that bold image of skateboarding. Photos of urban mundane landscapes turned into beauty. You never know, the person skating that bowl on the weekends might make important decsions Monday to Friday and wear suits.
“For those searching for something more than just the norm. We lay it all down, including what others call sanity, for just a few moments on waves larger than life. We do this because we know there is still something greater than all of us. Something that inspires us spiritually. We start going down hill, when we stop taking risks.”
Surf ing
There is nothing more satisfying than sitting out in the ocean where there are no rules, deadlines or bosses to deal with, with surfing you make the rules. The worlds greatest surfers talk about some of the best times they have had with a board under their feet.

“Sliding a wave removes our brains out of the ordinary and slips us into the extra ordinary of being there now. No more worries about mortgages or strife of being poor or rich. When you enter the domain of an ocean cylinder, that moment, those split seconds belong to the Zen part of just being. Period.”
Bill Hamilton
Another form of artistic expression. Whether
it be rock, dance or Hip Hop, every genre has
a different style, look and feel that helps Shape
design. Without music there is no fl ow and rhythm
to design. Without music there is no creativity. Music
challenges what people like and opens their minds to
new creations, just like design.

Travel to a designer helps open their mind to new environments
and takes them out of their comfort zone. Whether its a
different country or different city they have a unique style that
relates to that particular environment. Travel helps to educate
the mind with new aspects of everyday environment for design.

T ypography has always sparked an interest. Whether it be a catchy advertisment on the side of the bus or the bright
and colourful piece of graffiti. A universal form of communication that designers can make more aesthetically pleasing. It can tell a story, educate and stop people right in their tracks. It simply can be turned into a piece of art. A great quote buddied up with good design will make people want to stop, read and act. Type must be always pleasing to the eye and want the viewer to want more.

One of the most signifi cant differences between graphic designers and other visual artists is our
unhinged love of typography.
Typography at its best is a visual form of language linking timelessness and time.
