AbouttheProduction

Ten West Center for the Arts Founded by the Okerson Family in 2007, Ten West is a renovated church in Fortville Indiana. Our 12,000 square foot facility houses dance, art, music, and drama classes open to all students. The non-profit Periko Partners Inc. operates Ten West, the mission is simply to “Help Youth Stay Creative”. Thousands of people visit Ten West each year and we are very happy to continue to be a part of the Fortville and Hancock County Communities. About Seussical The Musical Now one of the most performed shows in America, Seussical is a fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza! Tony winners Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (Lucky Stiff, My Favorite Year, Once On This Island, and Ragtime) have lovingly brought to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, lazy Mayzie, and a little boy with a big imagination–Jojo. The colorful characters transport us from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos. The Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing Whos, including Jojo, a Who child sent off to military school for thinking too many “thinks.” Horton faces a double challenge–not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left to his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping, and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him.

The Performances: What: A three-day run of a young-adult production of Seussical the Musical

When: Thursday, May 5 at 7 p.m.; Friday, May 6 at 7 p.m.; and Saturday, May 7 at 7pm. Where: 10 W. Church St. Fortville, IN 46040 Why: To continue promoting the benefits of the arts for students. Target Audience: Local Families, Teens, Children, the Elderly; and anyone who loves Dr. Seuss, wide selections of music and a heart warming story. Media: The Fortville-McCordsville Daily Reporter, various online outlets, posters, banners, and a 3,000 piece mailer. Summary of Event: A cast of local students will put on the hit Broadway show

Seussical the Musical. The two-act performance will run for three days in May.
