Joining ‘The Alton College Magazine’ Group

Select ‘Groups’

Then ‘Find Groups’

Now search for ‘The Alton College Magazine’ and request to join this

group

Using the Forum

Under ‘Groups’

Select ‘The Alton College Magazine’

The forums are under ‘Forums’

This is the discussion for the new name.

Please add lots of suggestions! And feel free to start a new discussion if

it’s relevant...

Making Your Work Visible to the Group

In ‘My Portfolio’...

...under ‘My Views’...

...select ‘Create View’

Select ‘Blog’...

...and drag it down here

Tick the box next to your blog

Then hit ‘Save’, then ‘Next’

Put your name in here

And hit ‘Next’

Change this from ‘Users’ to ‘Groups’

Search for ‘The Alton College Magazine’

Next to the name of the magazine, you will be able

to choose who can see your work. It’s up to you whether

you choose ‘Everyone in Group’ or ‘Admin’. Then click the little Add button next to

it.

Click ‘Save’, and that’s it. You should end up with something looking like

this.

You can click ‘Add Post’ and start writing articles. Anything that you add to this blog

is visible to The Alton College Magazine. You can create new blogs, but unless you

add them to the View you just set up, only you can see them.
