The SetaVap2 is a benchtop automated instrument for measuring the vapour pressure of gasoline, solvents, light crude and similar products. It uses a fixed volume chamber controlled at a temperature of 37.8 ±0.10C (100 0F) and a vapour to liquid ratio of 4:1. A digital display instructs the operator through the test sequence and displays the test result and status information.

Vapour pressure testing is used by major global refineries, oil and pipeline companies, laboratories and vechicle manufacturers when testing gasoline, crude oil, solvents and other hydrocarbons. These are tested to measure fuel performance, emissions, engine efficiency, transport and storage safety, fuel blending and quality control.

The sample is injected through a septum into the fully evacuated and sealed chamber. Pressure readings are evaluated at one minute intervals, when the reading reaches a value which is stable within 0.1kPa for three minutes, the value is recorded.
