Connects your local area network (the group of PCs in your home or business) to theInternet
Processes and regulates the data that travels between these two networks
Network Address Translation (NAT) technology protects your network so users on theInternet cannot “see” your PCs - this is how your LAN remains private
Protects your network by inspecting the first packet coming in through the Internet portbefore delivery to the final destination on one of the LAN Ethernet ports
Inspects Internet port services like Web server, FTP server, or other Internet applicationsand, if allowed, forwards the packet to the appropriate PC or Server on the LAN side

Smart Link Backup: Choose this mode to ensure continuous connectivity. Ifthe primary WAN connection is unavailable, the backup WAN connection isused.
Load Balance: Choose this mode to use both (or more then 2 for RV016)Internet connections simultaneously to increase the available bandwidth. Therouter balances the traffic between the two interfaces in a weighted round robinfashion (WRR)
RV016 adds: WAN interface by priority levels or classes of service (CoS). Withthis feature, you can ensure bandwidth and higher priority for the specifiedservices and users. All traffic that is not added to the IP Group uses IntelligentBalancer mode.
