Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC)
Nagpur Institute of Technology, Nagpur have dedicated "Entrepreneurship Development
Cell" (EDC) to create the culture of Self Employment i.e. Entrepreneurship as one of the career
option. Cell is always enthusiastic to motivate students by carrying out various entrepreneurial
activities in collaboration with VIA, MCED, MSME, EDI-DST etc. The prime focus of this cell
is to provide a platform to convert student’s skills/ideas into reality in the field of
entrepreneurship. Cell is regularly organizes interaction of successful entrepreneurs, awareness
program, skill development program, innovation competitions and small scale industry visits.
The college is also having Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) Project, PMKVY to
make Rural Poor Youth Employable. One of our third year students, Mr. Nadeem Khan is
received various entrepreneurship awards like Young Entrepreneur & Innovator, APJ Abdul
Kalam Innovation, Innovator & Google Startup weekend etc. Miss. Ritu Malhotra, Alumni
received award as “Top women of the year 2018 Startup” for the manufacturing of Ezy Spit
product in Nagpur city.
Objectives 1. To create entrepreneurial awareness/culture in the students.
2. To provide a platform to interact with successful entrepreneurs.
3. To impart entrepreneurial skills amongst students through EDP.
4. To build support system for commercialization of Product/Services developed by student.
5. MoU with various Entrepreneur Development organizations to run entrepreneurial activities.

Phase I: Inauguration The workshop was inaugurated by Chief Guest Dr. Dileep Malkhede, Advicer-I,
AICTE, New Delhi. Guest of Honor Dr. S V Kane, VC, RTMNU, Nagpur and Shri. Gulabrao Thakare, Joint Director, Technical Education, Regional Office, Nagpur. Dr. Dileep Malkhed discussed various AICTE schemes for upgrading skills of Engineering graduate. He said that employer should understand the students and Indian students are best in the world, in Silicon Valley. The concept of co-teaching must be adopted in institute it means industry person should teach minimum 20 % syllabus of the curriculum.

• Students should take moderate risk in taking the decision for entrepreneurship • Students should take an advice from elders and resource persons before investing money
on Entrepreneurship. • Maintain healthy relationship with competitors and keep learning attitude from them. • Students should keep never die attitude

REPORT ON TWO DAYS WORKSHOP ON “Women Entrepreneurship Conclave” (WeCon 2018)
Aim: Two days workshop on Women Entrepreneurship in Waste Management at Bangalore
Program Details:
On 3rd & 4th of September 2018, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) & International Institute of Waste Management (IIWM) sponsored the WeCon, a two day event jointly organized at Jain University, Bangalore which was focused on convergence of 3500 plus aspiring women entrepreneurs in waste management & inspiring the next generation women to be empowered. Faculty Ms. Mrunali Jaiswal and students Ms. Archana Shrivastav, Ms. Lahmoo Nimi & Ms. Pallavi Bansod attended National Women Entrepreneurship Conclave (WeCon) .
Day 1 on 3rd September 2018 at 9:00 am, we had done registration then there was a test held on Entrepreneur ability assessment in which all the students & faculties participated from all over India. There were 2400 students who had actively participated in the competition Afterward the poster containing description & innovative idea about waste management was submitted & presented at the conclave. After poster submission there was Inauguration of the conclave followed by the exhibition of the poster. Lunch was taken after that. Then at 3:00 pm there was a open house interaction with established entrepreneurs in which everyone has participated enthusiastically. Then on we had tea followed by cultural program.
On Day 2 on 4th September 2018, the day started with felicitating some of eminent women entrepreneur in waste management & reliable in mentor’s directory in which 9 great womens have been felicitated for their success in the waste management business , their small ideas made a big impact on this reuse of waste products. After that we had lunch followed by power point presentation & technical session for giving us some brief ideas about entrepreneurship on waste management.
They motivated the women students to become financially independent which brings about empowerment. There we explored new techniques on waste management, Entrepreneurship possibilities, and exposure about various funding avenues.

The conclave was very motivating & innovative in shearing knowledge about waste management & women entrepreneurship.
In program, faculty & students interacted with the Dr. Ramesh Unnikrishnan (AICTE Director, Bangalore) & Ms. P. Bineesha , Executive Director, IIWM regarding Women Entrepreneurship & its importance.

NIT Group of Institutions in association with Indian Chamber of Commerce for Affirmative Action (ICCAA) have organized One day workshop on “Entrepreneur Development, The aim of this workshop was to motivate and grow Engineering students as Entrepreneurs. More than 350 Engineering final year students were participated in the function.
The program was inaugurated at the hands of guests Mr. Uday Kumar, Director NSIC(DPM), New Delhi, Chairman, Mr. Sunil Zode, ICCAA, Mumbai,Mr. Prithviraj Doifode Ass Director of MSME, Nagpur, DI, Mr. Anirban Roy chowdhary, Convener ICCAA, E-Commerce Business, Mr. Sanjay Bondekar, Zonal General Manager , NSIC, Mumbai, Mr. Siddiqui, DGM & Senior Branch Manager, NSIC, Nagpur, Abitab Meshram , Director, Power Industries and Dr. Nileshsingh Thakur, Principal, Nagpur Institute of Technology, Nagpur.
Motivating to the students the Director of NSIC (DPM) MR. Uday Kumar said that to become successful leader, one should have ignition of mind and for that an echo system have to develop within us. Then Mr. Sunil Zode, Chairman of ICCAA remarked that if we want to improve the strength of India, we have to use the available young man power and enhance horizontal growth of the nation. On this occasion Mr. Sanjay Bhondekar, Zonal General Manager, (NSIC) advised to the students that to become an entrepreneur we should think widely not for our own family but for others which are depended on us.
Afterwards Mr. AnirbahnRoychowdhury,the convener of ICCAA, E-Commerce informed about transforming technology of the world and told students about how one should establish start up independently and get assistance of finance from 10 lack to 25 crore, information about different technologies, with the help of different marketing under different Govt. policies and schemes provided to beneficiaries. Mr. Prithviraj Doifode, Asst. Director of MSME, DI guided students regarding the demands and different micro, small, medium and large business of day to day life consuming products and Govt. assistance. He also further told about the different kinds of small scale industries emphasizing on importance and selection of business.
Last but not the list Mr. Siddique, DGM and Senior Branch Manager, NSIC Nagpur explained about different schemes of government of India and assured the upcoming entrepreneurs for assistance regarding finance, technology, marketing and in terms of all kinds of different supportive services.
Finally this remarkable event was concluded with the successful story of Mr. Amitab Meshram, Director, Power Industries, Nagpur, who was a boy like other students of lower middle class family and

now how he developed his business up to 12 crores. He also told about the importance of time and opportunities in business. He told students that he was also inspired by such program and starts his business with the help of NSIC.

Aim: An all eve exhibition “Udyojika” & new start up idea competition for women entrepreneurship.
Program Details:
On 3rd October 2018, Lady Entrepreneur’s Wing(LEW) & Barister Sheshrao Wankkhede trust organized “Udyojika” (an all eves exhibition) & new startup idea competition at Wankhede hall, Nagpur which was focused on aspiring women entrepreneurs & inspiring the next generation women to be empowered. Faculty Ms. Mrunali Jaiswal and Ms. Nisha Maihsgawali along with 17 student participants participated in New start up idea competition.
The exhibition was very motivating & innovative in shearing knowledge about women entrepreneurship and student participants also shear their innovative ideas.

Startup fest in Nagpur-2018
The festival is organised by Indian Council for Technical Research and Development in association of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) at Kavi Suresh BhatSabhagruha, Reshimbagh. Mayor Nanda Jichkar, Prof Anil Sole, MLC, Ajay Sancheti, former MP, DattaMeghe, former MP, Sandeep Joshi, Leader of the Ruling Party in NMC and Chairman MSSIDC, RavindraThakre, Commissioner (Officiating) NMC, PramodYawale, Pro Vice-Chancellor, RTMNU, DrRamnathSonawane, CEO Smart City, ShwetaShalini, MD, ShivaniDani, Devendra Dave, KetanMohitkar, Programme Co-ordinator, Gaurav Mishra and others were among the prominent persons who attended the event. Good response from students, more than 3000 engineering students participated. Main objective of this startup fest to create budding entrepreneurial ecosystem in Nagpur.
Inauguration-
BJP leader and union minister for Surface Transport Mr.NitinGadkariinaugurated the Nagpur Startup Fest at Kavivarya Suresh BhatSabhagruh, Reshimbagh in Nagpur on Saturday October 06th, 2018. The startup fest is being organised to promote and celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit of the city. In addition to this, it offers budding entrepreneurs and startups a platform to showcase their potential. Besides, it aims to discuss roadblocks that startups face so that solutions can be found for a long-term successful venture.
In her speech, Jichkar expressed faith in the Start-Up Fest 2018 which according to her could prove beneficial to the youths. “It will bring out hidden talent in the youths and also encourage them to think out of the box,” she said.
Gaurav Mishra and KetanMohitkar made the opening remarks. Such programmes will be a energy booster in building a start-up eco system in city.
