Pointillism is a technique of painting which uses small dots of pure colour to
compose an entire painting. So the paintings are made up entirely of tiny little
dots of colour.
Georges Seurat and Paul Signac developed the technique in 1880, branching from
Impressionism.

Dots are placed so close to each other that they would blur into an image to the eye.
