COVID WOES Psalm 46:1 - God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in time of trouble. We had high hopes that by the time we were writing this letter, Chile would have reached herd immunity and the country would be well on its way to opening back up and life could resume as normal. The experts projected this could be possible by June. Chile had a quick vaccine rollout schedule, but they purchased the Sinovac vaccine from China with an approximate 50% efficacy rate. Despite extreme lockdowns and rapid vaccine distribution, Chile currently has the highest numbers it has ever had of COVID-19 cases, hospitals are full, and we’re being told that the end is nowhere in sight. The Chilean government has tightened restrictions and extended lockdowns - we are now about to enter into our third round of complete lockdown in our city, but some have had it much worse. Schools and churches are all closed. While we are so excited to see other parts of the world opening up, it’s been really hard to sit on the sidelines and wonder how much longer? What would we do without the Lord to turn to for our refuge and strength? Who would help us in times of trouble if it were not for Him? He is our very present help and there is a world that desperately needs that hope! As many of you know, we have been focusing much of our efforts over the past few months on the missionary cabin, but God, during this pandemic, has allowed us to really work behind the scenes, so to speak, on laying the groundwork for the next stages. The need in Chile is tremendous. We get calls almost weekly asking for help for people in various situations, and Matias does the best he can to counsel and disciple them over the phone. If it was up to us, we would have guys here already, but the Lord has given us this time to work on getting the proper team assembled and have the necessary structure in place. Matias has spent countless hours on the phone recruiting team members, i.e., people who are sold out for Jesus, willing to abandon everything, and come work full time here discipling and pouring into these young men. He has attempted to recruit from Bible institutes, churches, missionaries, and various contacts. We have several individuals who are working on raising support or who are praying about coming once the borders open up. This is our biggest need at the moment. As you may know, Javier and Chango currently live at the property full time and are a tremendous help and blessing to us.

COVID WOESPsalm 46:1 - God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in time of trouble.

PLANNING FOR THE FUTUREWe wanted to use this letter as an opportunity to update you on where we are at with the opening of the Center of Discipleship in the broader sense and what our specific needs are so that you can be praying for us!

Thank you to all of our ministry partners! We rely on your financial and prayer support to work together to reach the world with the gospel.

To donate visit: https://cmcmissions.org/donate. You will be asked to create an account; then simply choose our names from the list of missionaries and choose a payment type. Since some fees apply, we suggest the electronic check option at $1 per transaction. All donations are tax-deductible.

• Safety for our family and God’s protection

In the very near future (at least we hope), we need be to travel to the US for fundraising. We had plans to go this year but that was not God’s plan. Please pray for the Lord to open doors for this to be possible and for additional people, ideally a couple, to help watch the property while we are away.

The Lord has guided us so miraculously up to this point; we have no doubt that He will continue to guide, direct, and open doors in His timing. Our heartbeat is to see lives transformed by the person of Jesus, those who are broken, in bondage, and in the pit of despair. We are so thankful to all of you who are a part of this ministry through financial giving or through prayer and are faithfully and actively participating in what the Lord is doing here in Chile!

OUR ANIMALSOver the last year and a half, we have acquired some new friends at the farm. Cumbia and Chamame are our goats. They are a married couple, and Cumbia is currently expecting. Next, we have two ducks, also married, and about thirty chickens, give or take a few. Our two dogs are Negro and Porotito. Lastly, we have one elusive cat who we call “Mishu.” We wanted to assemble them all together for a group photo but decided that would be about as easy as herding cats.

Más que vencedores,
