The patented dual o-ring TwinSeal® gasket incorporates both hydrostatic and mechanical forces to affect a positive seal on all pipe surfaces. As the distribution system’s pressure increases, the tightness of the seal is equally increased. This unique design compensates for expansion and contraction due to pressure or temperature variances in water mains and service lines. The large area of gasket in contact with the pipe also serves to prevent saddle rotation while in service and the tapered ends provide a contoured fit to the pipe.

Features and Benefits

Design and Material Specification

1. The Stainless steel saddle shall meetor exceed all material specificationsas listed below. The top casting ofthe Saddle shall be cast stainlesssteel as per ASTM A743.

2. The saddle shall have a TwinSeal o-ring gasket permanently attached tothe casting at the factory.The o-ring gasket shall be thepatented design in NBR. It shall befree from porous areas, foreignmaterial, and visible defects, allmade from 100% new rubber. TheNBR resists temperatures of -40 to+212°F.

3. The MIG welded strap assemblyshall be stainless steel per ASTM

A193, and shall be fully passivatedby mechanical descaling.

4. The (AWWA or NPT) threadedoutlet shall be individually CNCmachined and inspected at thefactory.

5. There shall be no paper or plasticadhesive labels attached to thesaddle, any information appearing on the saddle shall be ink stenciled orcast lettering.
