Service Day at Tel Sheva Gimmel
ECL ACB Project
May 3rd, 2011
Students from Tel Sheva Gimmel, studying in the ECL project, have heard rumours from friends and relatives that Access students from Tel Sheva Aleph school have had a wonderful day volunteering at a kindergarten - the Access Service Day.
They demanded to have a similar experience!!!! So they received the chance and they definitely made the most out of it
The Birth of The Idea
I discussed the issue with the principal of the school and she was more than happy to support us. We decided to ask the neighbor kindergarten teacher to let the students volunteer for one day and outlined the main issues we wanted to take care of. The kindergarten lacked basic stuff due to minimal monetary support from the municipality. The supervising teacher told us she would be happy for any kind of enrichment…
Putting The Bits and Pieces Together
The students arrived during the holiday for preparations: they made posters and games…
They also collected money to buy basic supplies: colors and games for the children…
One student helped with the acquiring of the building blocks to be used as basis for the plants…
Another student helped with the shopping…
