Service Bulletin: Add GymKit

DESCRIPTION

Use this guide to add GymKit to an Android 7xe (EP620, TM527) or 7xi (EP621, TM528) console.

REQUIRED PARTS

Bluetooth Components –

• GymKit Bluetooth board • Bluetooth mounting sheet • CN18 cable • FH0350B core • Hardware/zip ties

RFID Components –

• GAT-RM310 RFID reader module • Antenna board • Antenna wire • Hardware/tape

Install Components

Treadmill Consoles

1. Install Bluetooth components: a. Add the FH0350B core to the cable – position this piece 20mm from the connector that is

labeled P1 in the photo below.

b. Insert the cable into the CN18 slot on the UCB.

c. Position the fan bridge first, and then fix the Bluetooth sheet to the right side. Next, attach the two screws shown below.

d. Use two M3X0.5PX6L screws to attach the Bluetooth board to the Bluetooth sheet. Insert the cable into the CN1 slot.

e. Use a zip tie to secure the cable to the metal frame, and position the connector at the upper edge of the fan bridge.

2. Install RFID components (kit 1000375135): Note: If an RFID kit is already installed in the console, check the firmware version to verify that it is version 4.1.0.0 or higher. To update the firmware, replace the RFID set.

a. Connect the signal wire to the antenna board.

b. Attach the antenna board to the front cover.

c. Put the fixing bracket on the antenna board and use three screws to secure it.

d. Connect the signal wire to the UCB.

e. Use the tape to secure the wire.

f. Place the reader board on the UCB and use two screws to secure it.

g. Reassemble the console. Enter service mode (3 0 0 1 ✓) and go to the Hardware tab.

Check the box “RFID Module Installed”.

3. You have completed part installation on the treadmill console. To finish setting up GymKit, check

the firmware version and enable the GymKit feature.

Universal Consoles

1. Install Bluetooth components: a. Use two M3X0.5PX6L screws to attach the Bluetooth sheet to the console.

b. Use two M3X0.5PX6L screws to attach the Bluetooth board to Bluetooth sheet.

c. Add the FH0350B core to the cable – position this piece 20mm from the connector that is labeled P1 in the photo below.

d. Insert the cable into CN1 on the Bluetooth board, and then use a zip tie to secure the cable to the Bluetooth sheet.

2. Install RFID components (kit 1000375103): Note: If an RFID kit is already installed in the console, check the firmware version to verify that it is version 4.1.0.0 or higher. To update the firmware, replace the RFID set.

a. Connect the signal wire to the antenna board.

b. Remove the heart rate board and put the antenna board on the front cover.

c. Put the foam tape on the antenna board.

d. Install the heart rate board on top of the antenna board.

e. Connect the signal wire to the UCB.

f. Use the tape to secure the signal wire.

g. Place the reader board on the UCB and use two screws to secure it.

h. Reassemble the console. Enter service mode (3 0 0 1 ✓) and go to the Hardware tab.

Check the box “RFID Module Installed”.

3. You have completed part installation on the universal console. To finish setting up GymKit, check the firmware version and enable the GymKit feature.

Check the Firmware Version

1. Enter service mode by pressing 3 0 0 1 ✓ on the keypad.

2. From the General tab, scroll down to the Firmware information section and check the RFID Firmware version. If it is below version 4.1.0.0, replace the RFID reader (see the console service manual for complete RFID installation instructions).

Enable the GymKit Feature

1. Enter service mode by pressing 3 0 0 1 ✓ on the keypad.

2. Select the Asset Management tab.

3. Scroll down and check the box “Enable GymKit”.
