    Service Alberta, on behalf of Seniors, is responding to your request for access to:

    "[A] copy of the contents of briefing binders for representatives of Alberta Seniors attending the standing committee on public accounts on December 9, 2014." Time frame: November 1, 2014 to December 9, 2014

    FOIP Services is pleased to provide partial access to the records you requested. The decision to grant partial access was made by the delegated authority, under the FOIP Act. A copy of the records is enclosed.

    Some of the information is removed from the records in accordance with the following sections of the FOIP Act:

    Section 4{1)(d) - The Act does not apply to a record created by or for or is in the custody or under the control of an officer of the Legislature and relates to the exercise of that officer's functions under an Act of Alberta.

    Section 6(4)(b) -The right of access does not extend to a record created solely for the purpose of briefing a member of Executive council in preparation for a sitting of the Legislative Assembly or one if its committees for a period of five years. This includes the Public Accounts Committee.

    The application of theses sections is indicated throughout the records. Access is provided to the remainder of the records.

    You have the right to ask the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner (OIPC) to review any decision made in regards to a FOIP request under section 65 of the FOIP Act. To request a review, you must complete and deliver a Request for Review form within 60 days to the OIPC at 410, 9925 -109 Street, Edmonton, Alberta, TSK 2J8. The form is available under the "Resources" tab on the OIPC website at: www.oipc.ab.ca or you can call them at 780-422-6860 or toll free at 1-888-878-4044 to request a copy of the form.

    If you request a review, please provide the OIPC with a copy of your original request, any letters of clarification, a copy of this Jetter and the reason why you are requesting a review. Your request for review should not contain any information you do not wish to exchange with the other parties.
