1.1 - What is viral Hepatitis?Viral Hepatitis is a systemic disease, which primarily affects the liver. Viral

hepatitis is caused by one of the following pathogens:

Hepatitis A virus (HAV) .

Hepatitis B virus (HBV) .

Hepatitis C virus (HCV).

Hepatitis D virus (HDV).

Hepatitis E virus (HEV).

Hepatitis G virus (HGV)

ClinicallyClinically, it is difficult to make a reliable clinical distinction among cases

caused by the hepatitis viruses, so, only serologic tests can distinguish
