The Work of the Believer

Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that

you believe on him whom he hath sent.

John 6:29

Ergon - [E'r-gon]

A heavenly thing done on Earth; the noblest, most perfect work

Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: show me

thy faith without thyErgon, and I will show thee my faith by my

Ergon . . . But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without

Ergon is dead? . . . For as the body without the spirit is dead, so

faith withoutErgon is dead also.

The Knowing

Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ

were baptized into his death? . . . Knowing this, that our old man

is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that

henceforth we should not serve sin . . . Knowing that Christ being

raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion

over him . . . Know ye not, that to whom you yield yourselves

servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom you obey; whether of

sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

The Reckoning

. . . Reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin,

but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

The Presenting

Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness

The Obeying

But God be thanked, that you were the servants of sin, but you

have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was

delivered you. Being then made free from sin, you became the

The only Ergon that Matters - a love-laboring faith

The Gospel of the Grace of God
