GCFI OPEN POSITION: CHURCH CONTENT SPECIALIST

Job Description Summary:

This position oversees and assists with various communications and media duties; helping to promote the ministries and tell the stories of what God is doing in and through the people and ministries of GCFI. This is a part-time (20-30hrs/week), hourly rate and support-level position. Rate is $18-25/hr.

Specific Responsibilities:

Work with a wide range of media including videography, photography, sound and graphic design. Primarily responsible is to produce and edit effective videos and other multimedia presentations for use in and for the Sunday services, ministries events, Bible Study and other storytelling/promotional efforts.

II CORINTHIANS 4:7-9 (NKJV)

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and

not of us. 8 We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in

despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed...

II CORINTHIANS 4:7-9 (NLT) We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like

fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from

God, not from ourselves. 8 We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We

are perplexed, but not driven to despair. 9 We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We

get knocked down, but we are not destroyed.

II CORINTHIANS 4:7-9 (MSG) If you only look at us, you might well miss the brightness. We carry

this precious Message around in the unadorned clay pots of our ordinary lives. That’s to prevent

anyone from confusing God’s incomparable power with us. As it is, there’s not much chance of

that. You know for yourselves that we’re not much to look at. We’ve been surrounded and

battered by troubles, but we’re not demoralized; we’re not sure what to do, but we know that

God knows what to do; we’ve been spiritually terrorized, but God hasn’t left our side; we’ve been

thrown down, but we haven’t broken. What they did to Jesus, they do to us—trial and torture,

mockery and murder; what Jesus did among them, he does in us—he lives! Our lives are at

constant risk for Jesus’ sake, which makes Jesus’ life all the more evident in us. While we’re going

through the worst, you’re getting in on the best!

DEVELOPING A GROWTH MINDSET.

Mindset defined:

A mental attitude or inclination, i.e. politicians versus constituents.

A fixed state of mind (does not allow for new situation or growth).

1. What I see is not necessarily what I will be.

II CORINTHIANS 4:16-18 (NKJV)

Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man

is being renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working

for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18 while we do not look at the things

which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are

temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

a. A growth mindset sees itself with heart!

Verse 16a – Therefore we do not lose heart.

b. A growth mindset is about an “even though” life.

Verse 16b – Even though our outward man is perishing...

JUDGES 13:1-3 (NKJV)

Again the Israelites did evil in the LORD’s sight, so the LORD handed them over to the Philistines, who oppressed them for forty years. 2 In those days a man named Manoah from the tribe of Dan lived in the town of Zorah. His wife was unable to become pregnant, and they had no children. 3 The angel of the LORD appeared to Manoah’s wife and said, “Even though you have been unable to have children, you will soon become pregnant and give birth to a son. HABAKKUK 3:16f, 17-19 (AMP) Because I must wait quietly for the day of distress, for the

people to arise who will invade and attack us. 17 Though the fig tree does not blossom and

there is no fruit on the vines, though the yield of the olive fails and the fields produce no

food, though the flock is cut off from the fold and there are no cattle in the stalls, 18 Yet I

will [choose to] rejoice in the LORD; I will [choose to] shout in exultation in the [victorious]

God of my salvation! 19 The Lord GOD is my strength [my source of courage, my invincible

army]; He has made my feet [steady and sure] like hinds’ feet and makes me walk [forward

with spiritual confidence] on my[a]high places [of challenge and responsibility].

c. A growth mindset has a “YET” clause in its contract or covenant!

Verse 16c – yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.

GENESIS 28:15 (NKJV)

“Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this

land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you.”

d. A growth mindset knows, to see myself right I’ve ‘gotta get light.’

e. A growth mindset knows troubles don’t last they come to pass.

Verse 17b – which is but for a moment

f. A growth mindset puts problems to work for it.

Verse 17c – is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory

Promises to the afflicted:

Brighter days

PSALM 30:5 (NKJV)

For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; weeping may endure for a

night, but joy comes in the morning.

Deliverance

PSALM 34:19 (NKJV)

Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all.

Divine care in sickness

PSALM 41:3 (NKJV)

The LORD will strengthen him on his bed of illness; You will sustain him on his

sickbed.

Comfort of God’s presence.

ISAIAH 43:2 (NKJV)

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they

shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned,

nor shall the flame scorch you.

Eternal Home.

JOHN 14:1-2 (NKJV)

“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My

Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to

prepare a place for you.

All things work for the believers good.

ROMANS 8:28 (NKJV)

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to

those who are the called according to His purpose.

Sufficiency of grace.

II CORINTHIANS 12:9 (NKJV)

And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect

in weakness.” Therefore, most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the

power of Christ may rest upon me.

g. A growth mindset doesn’t need to peek; it walks by faith.

Verse 18a – while we do not look at the things which are seen

II CORINTHIANS 5:7 (NKJV)

For we walk by faith, not by sight.

h. A growth mindset develops night vision so that it can see what others cannot.

Verse 18b – but at the things which are not seen.

A growth mindset asks for what it wants.

II KINGS 6:17 (NKJV)

And Elisha prayed, and said, “LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the

LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was

full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

A growth mindset is inheritance-minded.

JOHN 14:19 (NKJV)

A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because

I live, you will live also.

A growth mindset brings the obscure into visual clarity through the telescope of

faith.

HEBREWS 11:27 (NKJV)

By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing

Him who is invisible.

i. A growth mindset is not distracted by what’s obvious.

Verse 18c – For the things which are seen are temporary…

How long? Not long!

I PETER 5:10 (NKJV)

But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after

you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.

j. A growth mindset relies on the consistency and sustainability of God.

Verse 18d – but the things which are not seen are eternal.

(for the LORD your God is a merciful God), He will not forsake you nor destroy you, nor

forget the covenant of your fathers which He swore to them.

JOSHUA 1:5 (NKJV)

No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses,

so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you.
