Raymond Tugend, PGA

Dear Lancaster Members,

I hope that this message finds you all in the best of health and great spirits. Over the past month

there have been some changes in the management team that I would like to announce. Greta

Dankert is no longer with the club and I will once again resume the role of Membership Director.

We wish Greta the best of luck in all of her future endeavors. Teresa Eyring will be the Banquet

Manager along with overseeing the half way house operation. Alexis Schmitz will be the new

Dining Room Manager and also oversee the Pool F&B service side of the department. In

addition, Chris Christie has been named the new Sous Chef under Chef Greg. Chris is an out-

standing employee and has worked extremely hard for this opportunity. Rounding out the back

of the house is our new line cook Cory Mentel. He has extensive experience in multiple facets of

cooking and will certainly add an additional set of new ideas. As we move into fall and our

heaviest catering months I could not be more excited about the team that has been assembled.

While these teams do take time to put together this may be the best all around group of

passionate, service oriented individuals that I have had the pleasure of working side by side

with.

Over the next 45-60 days will prove to be a critical time for setting up 2020 to be an exceptional

year. This is the time of year when members from other club are potentially looking for a new

home. The Board of Directors has approved a Fall Offering that should attract some interest.

With the uncertain future of Diamondhawk and Fox Valley I would ask that you reach out to

anyone associated with these two clubs and suggest LCC. We have a great club and the

momentum is very positive as we end the summer. It would be wonderful to capitalize on some

of these opportunities headed into 2020. As usual thank you for all your support, your love for

LCC and feedback over the past 18 months.

Sincerely,

Raymond Tugend, PGA

Hi, I am Emma Cansdale, the new Aquatics Director for Lancaster Country Club. I have a long

history of swimming and being around pools. I have competitively swam on club teams and

through my schooling since 2010, and I have been teaching swimming lessons since 2014 when I

became a lifeguard. I enjoy teaching the important life skill of water safety to children and find it to

be very rewarding seeing the kids after their lessons.

I am currently attending Baldwin Wallace University to pursue a career in Early Childhood

Education. I hope that my education in college can strengthen my ability to teach and improve our

swim team and swim lessons at Lancaster Country Club. I look forward to seeing all of the

members around the pool!

Sincerely,

Emma Cansdale

[email protected]

Congratulations!

The entire Management Team would like to thank all of the

children of LCC who participated in golf camp, kids camp, swim

team and/or swim lessons. As the season was not exactly

perfect we do appreciate the support. We look forward to fine

tuning all the programs and adding many more children into

the mix. Have a great off season and before you know it the

summer of 2020 will be here!

Fall League & High School Matches Tuesday afternoons/evenings will be closed after 1:00pm. Any tee times teeing off before 1:00pm will be fine as you just need to be off hole #11 by 3:30pm: The regular men’s league has finished for the season. We are once again doing a fall league which you may have seen advertised that will be on Tuesday nights. They started on Tuesday August 27th and will run through Tuesday October 1st. It will be a 4pm start time each week. They will play holes #2-#10 each week. Earlier in the year, the Board approved for Depew High School to play their matches at LCC. In addition to other dates, Depew will also be on these Tuesdays running September 3rd through October 1st. The Depew team will play holes #1, #11-#18 on the Tuesdays with the Fall League being on the front 9. Depew starts basically when the buses arrive from school 3:15-4pm. Once they start they will use the tee for about an hour to get everyone out on the course. If you have any questions, please call or email the golf shop. I have the complete Depew HS and St. Mary’s HS golf schedules below for your review: Depew HS Tuesday Sept 3rd Match Thursday Sept 5th Match Tuesday Sept 10th Match Tuesday Sept 12th Match Thursday Sept 17th Match Tuesday Sept 19th Match Thursday Sept 24th Match Thursday October 1st Match St. Mary’s HS Monday Sept 9th Match Monday Sept 23rd Match Monday Sept 30th Match Wednesday October 2nd Match Thursday October 3rd Match A reminder all pro shop credit from tournament and league winnings must be used by Sunday October 13th, 2019. Autumn is around the corner – so soon? It was a month full of golf events as we head toward the end of the summer. Our club cham-pionship was held the weekend of August 10-11. What a great competition it was with Noel Nowak as the winner. She now has the Ladies Club Champion preferred parking spot along with her trophy! On August 15 we had our 3rd annual “Lancaster 9” guest day which is really 11 holes. The golf was great and the party was even better. Kudos to Candy Kelley for a job well done. The chip and sip contest on the patio was a lot of fun and the weather could not have been better. Thanks to those also who helped that day because we all know it takes a village. Congratulations to Candace and her team as they took first place – and you know what comes along with that victory!! Will we all be going to Florida to play next year at Candy’s course so that she can continue hosting? League came to a close on August 21 and we celebrated with our closing dinner that same night. We had a great turn out and hope that the spirit and momentum generated will con-tinue through next year ladies league. Division 1 winners LuAnn Costrino and Kim Nowicki return as league chairpersons for next year – Congratulations! As we move into September we finish out the golf season with our Fall Harvest. The flyer is attached to this newsletter so please read for all the details. The sign-up sheet is in the pro shop. Finally, we will be holding our annual Closing Dinner for the Women’s Association on Thurs-day, September 26. That night we will be counting the ballots for board elections as well as celebrating the end of another golf season and recognizing our event winners. We will be electing 2 board positions from the following candidates: Maria Kunkemoeller; Lori Stilwell and Nancy Reukauf. Thank you ladies for throwing your golf hats into the ring and volunteer-ing your time as a board member. There will be ballots available in the ladies locker room for nominations for the Mary Mecnun award for this year. Also, we will be distributing survey sheets and look forward to your re-sponse and suggestions for next year.
