The first Tramonto Wedding Run on 21 Aug 2010 certainly left an impression on its attendants. With over 300
athletes entering the race on the first year, the Wedding Run can only go from strength to strength. Together with
the NLR Wine Trade show with its 16 top class farms and a lively upbeat performance by Watershed, the scene was
set for a perfect day out! The day was blessed with beautiful sunshine, mouth watering food, laughter of children
and fantastic prizes sponsored by Jaguar, Tramonto, Pentravel, Weltevrede Wine farm, Diemersfontein Wine farm &
Puma.
The Bride’s Dash promises to be a new yearly tradition so get those dresses ready for next year or miss out on all the
fun, the next date is set for 20 August 2011 and we cannot wait for the bigger, better and activity packed Wedding

This year’s Garden Route Wedding Expo delivered a few interesting exhibitors, the event was well organized and
exhibitors gave positive feedback. Tramonto specialises in the organising and styling of bespoke weddings and
functions and is proud to brag about the 1st place we achieved for the best incorporated theme and spectacular stall
display, although the cherry on top was stolen by the Fashion Show, where the 2011 Demetrios & 2011 Cosmobella
ranges from Lady Marmalaide ruled the catwalk! Well done to everyone involved! For Lady Marmalaide enquiries:

Smallholding – Sedgefield ZAR 4,200,000
Reference 5018
To the best of our knowledge this is the largest log home of its kind, in South Africa. (Stave construction, vertical log, and short log horizontal,
French Canadian piece-en piece)
The property is on 3 hectares and is about 20km's from Knysna in a quiet cul-de-sac, surrounded by agricultural land, smallholdings, with sheep,
cows, horses, etc. The slope from the top is gentle with good water catchment and there are 3 dams with a large one at the bottom of the
property. The large dam appears to be fed by a spring, since it did not dry out like others in the area, during the recent drought.
With plus minus 350 m2 of roofing on the main house and approximately 500m2 over the stores and sheds, our 60,000 litres of water storage
takes only a day's rain to fill, with our well maintained gutter and pipe system. The swimming pool carries 55,000 litres with piping and pumps to
and from the water supply.
The house is on timber stilts with parking for at least 3 cars underneath. This may provide plenty of storage space, and with the log stilts, a cinch
to close in/off with the quantity of timber currently available. (Please note, depending on the time of the sale, some of this stock may be sold, but
with the existing workshop, would always be replaceable in the future, even from existing pine and blackwood on the land)
The main house has a steel fireplace, which literally hangs from the solid log ceiling and provides warmth and a cosy ambience despite the huge
space in the main, double volume area of the house. A painstakingly sculpted staircase invites you upstairs. Here, in the main bedroom, there is a
Lesley Hoets Hot Art ceramic fireplace that says no to cold bedrooms. It is highly energy efficient and low on maintenance in that it does not
require to be cleaned out very often.

Local artists Voldi George, Olive Sandilands and Simone Galand will perform a Spring Classical Concert at Tramonto
on 17 September for the benefit of Youth for Christ Options Centre in George. YFC Options’ mission is to impact and
develop the lives of people facing HIV or pregnancy related crises.
The concert promises something for young and old. The program will consist of songs of
inspiration in various languages and secular pieces raging form Verdi to Donizetti and
Bizet. During the course of the evening the audience will have the opportunity to take
part in a ‘talent auction’. Various individuals and businesses have donated their services
or products to be auctioned in aid of Options. The items up for auctioning range from
meals at four-star restaurants to paintings and a helicopter flight for two.
Due to the nature of the program it is a good way to introduce classical music to young
children and teenagers. Fun for the whole family.

Spring TimeSpring TimeSpring TimeSpring Time............
Finally! Spring is here! The sporadic, but very welcome rainfall over the past few weeks has put me in the mood for
spring-cleaning.
Before we start chucking unwanted things out of the window and front door I feel it best, in the spirit of the ongoing
recession to reconsider the box of ‘unwanteds’. As we near the season of celebrations, weddings and festivities
could we not turn our annual spring clean in to a treasure hunt?
Here is what I suggest you keep:
- Old glass bottles with character. When filled with a variety of fresh flowers they make an elegant, affordable
statement…
- Vintage fabrics and crochet – turn granny’s handiwork into exquisite placemats, coasters, overlays or chair
back-detail…
- Rusty old birdcages – with a theme-inspired coat of paint the budgies old home becomes the talking point of
your event…
- Interesting bits of old stationery – why spend hundreds of rands on bespoke stationery when you could
combine rare bits to make a unique invitation or name-card…
- Grandpa’s old pink cardigan – dressing-up has never been easier thanks to the current fashion notion of
‘anything goes’…
- Old silk flowers – kitsch becomes cool when a lavish silk rose tops your wedding cake or becomes decoration
for your champagne tray…
- Vintage accessories (such as bowties and pearls) – vintage is the word. Try adding a personalized touch to
your party ensemble…
- Confectionary recipes – tired of boring sandwich platters? Why not go for tried and trusted recipes passed
on from family and friends…
- Beautiful old lace and voile curtains - give your table a facelift by turning a beautiful old curtain into a
wonderful tablecloth
- Gorgeous family wedding dresses with a romantic history – there might be a dress hanging in grandma’s
cupboard… one Vera Wang could only dream of!
Enjoy every nostalgic, memory filled moment of your spring clean and have fun putting your finds to a spectacular
new use. I look forward to seeing what you’ve come up with.
