You’ll see picture-perfect views and colorful local attractions as your guide shares interesting Catalina Island history and folklore from the comfort of an open-air tram. This seven-and-a-half mile journey provides a comprehensive history of Santa Catalina Island’s only city, Avalon. Following the tour we check in for a two-night stay at the beachfront Pavilion Hotel. Later this afternoon, mingle with your fellow travelers and other hotel guests at a complimentary wine and cheese social at the hotel. Day 2 - Explore the Island Enjoy a leisurely deluxe continental breakfast at the hotel this morning, followed by time on your own to

explore Catalina. Listed below are a few suggestions of great Catalina activities offered by Santa Catalina Island Company. For more information on these activities, or to pre-book, call (310) 510-TOUR. We recommend pre-booking any tours two to three weeks (but no more than 30 days) in advance. 1. Undersea Expedition—Come face-to-face with Catalina’s abundant marine life by cruising five feet under water in a spacious, climate-controlled cabin. 2. Glass Bottom Boat Tour—Watch the marine life that thrives in Catalina’s beautiful kelp forest at crystal clear Lover’s Cove Marine Sanctuary. 3. Skyline Tour—This exciting narrated journey along the scenic “Skyline Drive” takes you 10 miles into Catalina Island's interior. See spectacular vistas, deep canyons and quiet ocean coves.

4. Inland Expedition - Travel 31 miles through the heart of Catalina's rugged interior in a comfortable, '50's Flexible Bus™, restored to its original streamlined beauty. Follow the 1800's stagecoach route that takes you through Middle Ranch where you will enjoy the Native Plant Nursery and the Bald Eagle habitat. Your journey continues onto the beautiful windward side of the Island for a vie of Catalina's rugged, unspoiled Pacific shoreline for stunning photo opportunities. On the scenic drive back you’ll have the opportunity to look for bald eagles, wild bison, boar and mule deer that roam the island.

5. Zipline Eco Tour—If you’re feeling a little more adventerous, try an exotic eco-tour of the island by zipline. Travel close to three quarters of a mile at heights of 300 feet above the canyon floor and experience unique aspects of Catalina Island’s wildlife and history. This evening, enjoy another complimentary wine and cheese social at the hotel. [CB]

Day 3 - Return to San Diego After an included deluxe continental breakfast at the hotel you’ll have much of the day free to explore more of this island paradise. Browse the quaint village boutiques, enjoy a famous buffalo burger on the pier, or simply relax with a cool Mai Tai and a good book amid the scenic island beauty. Mid-afternoon, we will all meet up at the Avalon boat landing to board the Catalina Express to return to Long Beach. From there we’ll motor coach back down to San Diego relaxed, refreshed and with warm memories of our Catalina Island getaway. [CB]
