Some businesses are committed to Total Qual-ity Management or TQM. A tenet of TQM

says that a problem in an organization related to service or production does not usually relate to the people per se but rather to a faulty process. So, when problems arise, if the fruit of the process is not meeting the satisfaction of management, the process itself is examined to determine where improvements need to be made.

If we think about the fact that almost ninety percent of our young people walk away from the church every year, we much consider that part of the problem is faulty process. In fact, it does not go too far to say that the root cause of our losses is a faulty discipleship process that has been used by most Christian parents for decades.

In the average Christian home the total time spent on biblical training is less than fi ve hours a week. With less than fi ve hours of biblical training a week and more than eighty hours of non-biblical training/infl uence per week from various sources, the non-biblical infl uence easily wins out shortly after our children leave home. As a result, our children and future generations are lost to the world.

Th is faulty process is based, in part, on knowledge apart from God and mere information transfer rather than the development of deep, lifetime relationships with God and man. Th e emphasis in secu-lar society is on numerous but shallow relationships even within families. Consequently, there is no lasting fruit for individuals or for God’s kingdom. Jesus’ process was just the opposite; He developed deep relationships with His disciples and they turned the world upside down. Th at’s the kind of fruit you want!

Th

Student MinistryTh e Ledge meets on Wednesday Nights at 7:00 p.m. Our focus is accountable discipleship for junior high and senior high stu-dents. Our leaders guide small group sessions through issues and

Bible principles. We kick off on Wednesday, September 11. • A key element to our discipleship strategy is a quiet time journal. Spiritual growth can only happen as we spend time in the presence of our Creator and Savior. Our small group leaders will use the journal as a base for spiritual chal-lenge and accountability. Th e cost of this for the full year is $20. Th ere are TWO options to take part in this! 1. Paper Journal. Th is journal includes a Bible read-ing plan, a prayer journal, and a place for taking sermon notes. 2. Online Jour-nal. Th is is an all new and great option for any age. Th is can be done on a com-puter or mobile device! Word of Life has a free mobile app that is used. While the app is free, you will need a year of membership. We can give assistance with this process at kickoff in the Summit Room. If you want to see what this online QT involves, you can see a video example at http://quiettimediary.com/content/qtwalkthrough. •Follow us on Facebook (www.facebook.com/SummitTeens) and Twitter (twitter.com/SummitFBBC) for up to date information on events!

12 years ago terrorists took the lives of thousands of innocent people. Take time this week to

pray for their loved ones and thank Him for the protection that He has

Pray for the Ireland FamilyOn August 22, Robin had a “stroke or retinal vein occlusion” in her left eye. She also has a heart condition, so going on blood thinners for her eye is a problem. At that point she was in ICU in a Ukrainian hospital. On August 27, she was moved out of ICU. She is eating and gaining some strength. She has some fl ashes in her vision and tingling on her side, but they think that it is the infl ammation in her joints that has gone into her brain. Steroids have been administered to help. She is stable and will be going home to Fastiv. She is very limited in what she can do. Colleen Burnett (her daughter) has traveled there to help them pack. Th ey all have a fl ight home on the 19th of September. As you can imagine the physical wellness has been a great burden as well as the fi nancial cost of the hospital and airline tickets home. Please pray for: •Robin’s health to stay stable •Safety in packing •Safety in travel •A place to stay while Robin recovers •Financial needs to be met. You can reach them at:

CompassCare Pregnancy ServicesWomen don't have abortions because the societies in which they live respect their rights or choice. Women have abortions because they

are told in a thousand diff erent ways that they are on their own. Women feel as though unplanned pregnancy is a life or death situation. She says to herself, "It is either my life or the baby's life." She feels that her life as she knows it will be over if she allows the pregnancy to continue. After all, abortion is not about choice, but fear; not about freedom, but society's choice not to support women who fi nd themselves pregnant. So CompassCare seeks to erase a woman's per-ceived need for abortion by transforming her fear into confi dence, with services and support that are relevant to her now.

Norm & Linda Pike and FamilyWhat a gorgeous fl ower arrangement we received from our church family at FBBC. Th ank you for remembering all of us with this beautiful basket as we continue to pray for our hearts to heal on the passing of our 42 year-old son and brother, Randy T. Pike.
