Opportunities at CALF this Fall!CALF is planning on hosting fall tours onSaturdays during the month of October. These tours area fun way for youth to obtain volunteer hours! Youthvolunteers are needed from 9:30am-12:00pm and/or11:30am-2:00pm to help lead the tours (a visit with thelivestock and a tour of the pumpkin patch).Sign-Up Here: CALF's Youth Volunteers for Fall Tours

Douglas County 4-H at CALF Harvest DaysAny clubs who are interesed in hosting a table to educate Harvest Day visitors onavailable 4-H projects and clubs, please contact call 720-733-6940 or email 4-H AgentKirsten ([email protected]) to sign up. Space is available inside or outsideand feel free to bring animals to showcase!

Council meetings are open to all Douglas County 4-H members and leader's. Each clubis allowed 2 voting members per meeting but others may attend as non-voting members.This allows 4-H members to make friends from other clubs and increase knowledge ofthe Douglas County 4-H program.

At the the next Council meetings, on October 7, Allison Paul from the Douglas CountyFair Office will be attending to give a quick how-to on reserving building at thefairgrounds for 4-H use. This should be an informative session for club leaders andmembers wishing to hold meetings and special events on the fairgrounds. Please comewith any questions you may have for Allison!

Applications are due to the Extension Office, October 16 by close of business. Finalistswill be notified and interviews will take place at the Extension Office on November 13,2019. For more information or if you have any questions, contact Jessica [email protected] or 720-733-6900.

Submit you 2018-2019 4-H photos HERE for the slideshow. In order for yourphotos to be included, be sure they are 4-H Code of Conduct appropriate andsubmitted by Friday, October 4.

Through the generous gifts of 4-H donors, sponsors,4-H families and funds from CSU, the Colorado State4-H Foundation was able to award 38 collegescholarships this year. Thank you to all who applied!Selecting the finalists was a difficult task due to thehigh caliber of so many 4-H’ers; the scholarshipcommittee is continually impressed with theapplicants.

Colorado Leadership ConferenceGlenwood Springs, CONovember 1-3, 2019

Colorado Leadership Conference registration is now open. This conference is for youthin grades 6th through 9th.

The theme for this year’s conference is “Living By 4-H”.

Register now through 4HOnline

Remember registration will be open until tomorrow, September 27th. Then will open again October 14 through 18th. In October the youth will need to be re-enrolled and active before they can register. So please register now.

Time to apply for the National Western Stock Show Catch-a-CalfProgram!

The program is open to youth that are ages 12 to 18, as of December 31st, 2019.Youth must be an enrolled 4-H member and resident of the states of CO, WY, KSor NE.

To apply for the program go to nationalwestern.com/catch-a-calf-program/ andcomplete the online application. There is also a mandatory form that they willneed to print off and complete. The online application must be submitted byDecember 1st and the mandatory form must be signed by our Livestock Agent,Kirsten Cowan, and postmarked by December 2nd.

shooting air rifle and air pistol at the Shooting trailer during CALF's Harvest Day event. Ifyou are interested in volunteering the event is Sat., Sept. 28th from 10:00am-3:00pm. Aslong as a shooting leader is present, 4-H shooters can help volunteer as well.
