An Indian summer is a period o unseasonablywarm, dry weather, occurring afer the end o summerproper. Te US National Weather Service defines thisas weather conditions that are sunny and clear withtemperatures above 70 degrees, ollowing a sharp rost(the Squaw Winter). It is normally associated withlate-September to mid-November. Although weve yet to receive a hard, killing rost,it certainly seems like some Indian Summer weatherout there or the remainder o the week with highs inthe 90s on Wednesday and Tursday. But it looks like it

comes to a screeching halt by Saturday or Sunday.

Just a quick note to end a very quicktenure here at the GlasgowCity-County Library. Tankyou or the opportunity toserve you at the GlasgowCity-County Library. It hasbeen almost 18 months sinceI became your library Directorand it has been an adventure.Last year, we made serving youour top priority. I hope that you have ound the libraryto be a riendly and more welcoming place. Secondly, I ocused on improving your libraryenvironment. With the combined support o Friendso the Library, BNSF, Valley County Foundation and theCounty we have an entirely new childrens area. Withsupport rom the County, we will have a new circulationarea rom which to serve you and a new communitycomputer area or you to work in. With the support othe City, we will have new tinted windows that will onnice days let the resh air in and on bad days keep theweather out. It is nice knowing I am leaving you with aew more improvements to look orward to. I must alsothank our local news people, who have been so generouswith their time and print to help me communicate withall o you!

I have been very ortunate to have ound somuch support and passion or the library within thecommunity. I thank you again, or the privilege to makea difference in our community. Have a well-read day. ~ Emily Wilson
