The Tracy Chamber of Commerce has been recognizing the merits of individuals in the community for over 50 years through the annual Community Recognition Awards. These awards are presented to individuals in the following areas:
Male/Female Citizen of the Year Entrepreneur of the Year Professional of the Year Organization of the Year Business of the Year Educator of the Year Emerging Youth Leader of the Year With preparations underway for the 2018 Winter Gala where the Community Recognition Awards will be celebrated, the Chamber would like to ask you as a member of our community, to consider submitting a nomination form for someone you feel has contributed to the Tracy community in a positive way. Anyone can submit a nomination form regardless if you are a member of the Chamber. The deadline to submit nominations is Friday, November 3rd. This year we are making it easier for you to submit your nomination by creating an online version of the nomination form. Visit our website, www.tracychamber.org and click on the Gala Nomination link to submit your nomination online. After collecting all of the nominations, the Chamber’s nominating committee comprised of former winners and Chamber board members will review the nominations and select the winners. Winners will be announced at a press conference held at the Chamber office in early December. Members of the public are invited to attend the press conference to celebrate the announcement of the 2017 Community Recognition Award winners. The Winter Gala will take place Friday, January 26th and
will be the first black tie event of 2018. I hope you will
consider joining us for a memorable night filled with
elegance and entertainment! If you are interested in

Hire Me First Needs Job Shadow Volunteers
The Hire Me First Program is hoping to address a need for students who are interested in career exploration but don’t have time to commit to an internship by creating a Job Shadowing Day. During the Job Shadowing Day, students would have the ability to shadow an employer for three hours to get an understanding of the employer’s field of work. The Hire Me First’s Job Shadowing Day will take place on Thursday, October 26th from 8:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Students and employers will be invited to join us at the Tracy Community Center at 8:00 a.m. for a light breakfast and orientation. During breakfast, employers will meet the student (s) who will shadow them for the day and will take them back to their office. At 11:30 a.m., both employers and students will return to the community center to attend the Hire Me First Kick Off Luncheon. This is the first year the Hire Me First will combine both the Job Shadowing Day and Kick Off Luncheon in one experience and we hope the students and employers enjoy the opportunity. At this time, we are looking for businesses who are interested in offering a job shadowing experience for a local student from the Hire Me First Program on 10/26. If you are interested in offering a job shadow to students and contributing in the development of our future workforce please contact Alyssa Mupo at (209) 835-2131. or you can email: [email protected] for more info.
