Kolbs Korner . . . August 2016

The Lord has truly blessed us with daily bread this month. Christopher was

hospitalized again in Hong Kong. He spent eight days hospitalized and during this time the

LORD continued to deliver His daily bread.

Beginning with a mom and a dad knowing it was time to go to the emergency

room, Christopher's cold moved into his lungs and was igniting his asthma. A taxi

transported us to the hospital, where nurses and a doctor administered God’s daily bread

which took the form of a a nebulizer, a shot, an X-ray, a nose and throat swab, blood

draw, and a hospital bed on the second floor pediatrics ward. Soon breathing treatments,

steroids, antibiotics, oxygen, and a host of meds were administered to clear up his lungs.

Food consumption suspended for four more days; IV only. The doctor wanted

Christopher's body to rest and heal, not spend energy digesting food. It was wonderful to

see the LORD blessing Christopher with all kinds of daily bread, even some respiratory

therapists “pounded” on his back to give him some percussion therapy. In the end the

LORD has given Christopher back His health through healing and daily bread

Jesus came to be that bread from heaven to take care of our greatest need, the

forgiveness of our sins. Forgiveness splashed on our foreheads, spoken in our ears in

absolution, and placed in our mouth at the Lord’s table. As God’s children, we should and

will pray to God for the things we need. Not only that, but we will readily acknowledge

that He supplies those needs and for this we continue to thank Him for doing so. Even isn

sickness there is healing either now in this life or heaven, and for this we rejoice.

We are tentatively scheduled to speak with Pastor Kolb via the internet live in worship the weekend of September 10 and 11. We will get to hear first-hand the mission work the Lord is doing through the Kolbs!
