We are very fortunate to have businesses such as A&R Copiers supporting Tanderra in the production of our Newsletter.
Please look after the businesses that support your organisation. We thoroughly recommend A&R Copi-ers.
They can be contacted on 08 8644 3066.
We are asking patrons, members of Tanderra, and resident Groups, to please observe the No Parking areas around Tanderra. They are placed to provide safe areas for you to load and/or unload of goods, materials, equipment etc.
It has been identified that parking in those areas would not be safe for patrons, or vehicles, and might seriously impair movement of vehicles around those areas.
ACROSS the BOARD
Hi.! Everyone and thanks to all the Members that attended " The Special General Meeting" in August, thanks for everyone's input and opinions. Some good ideas and suggestions were put forward of how to promote Tanderra Craft Village. e.g. better signage and advertising. Don't forget the Car Boot Sale is on the 21st & 22nd of November Market Weekend so tell your friends. I would also like to welcome to the Tanderra Board our new Secretary, Michael who has volunteered to help the Board out. Another Cake Stall has been booked and organised, to help with Fund Raising, by Bub and her Crew of volunteers, for Thursday 10th September in the Main Street, hope it is another successful event. Don't forget to visit Tanderra on Saturday 26th September as we have The Whyalla Singing Choir as entertainment and on Sunday 27th September we have George Scharenberg playing "The Shad-ows Music." Please bring your friends and sit under the pergola for a great afternoon of good food and entertain-ment. Unfortunately lately we have found some tripping hazards around Tanderra, so please look and be careful where you walk, keep an eye on all the steps, verandahs and foot paths, with Tanderra's in-frastructure being so old, and the ground moving we don't want anybody getting injured. We are in the process of trying to get some of these hazards fixed. We would like you to know we have qualified First Aid Officers to attend to anyone that needs help plus First Aid Kits in each Block of Tanderra Buildings, we will have signs to direct you to the First Aid Officer and were they are located with phone numbers for you to ring if you require their assistance. Cheers Ellen Zukowski. .
J.C.'s Pyrography and Prints shop open in H-Block Laser prints and Woodburning pictures
can also do Name plaques for bedrooms or custom pictures.
After a survey held a few markets ago and other information that has been found the 25 year reunion will now be held on the Market weekend in January 2016. This will be Saturday 30th January. There will be a cake and presentations at 12pm on the Saturday. We wish all past and present members to attend. This will be discussed at the next General Meeting being held in August on the Saturday of the Market week end. The reason for the change of dates is because it was January 1991 when Tanderra first opened its doors to the public which makes January 2016 the 25 years.
Items for Tanderra Promotional Stall in Westlands Mall
We are always looking for items to take to the mall for the promotional stall. This is to let the community know that the
market will be on at the weekend. We try to get a good diversity of what is available at Tanderra but this can only be
done if people bring items for the stall. All members are entitled to have their crafts etc on the stall if they so wish.
These items can be brought to the stall at Westlands on the Thursday before the market and can be picked up at 3
o'clock on Friday or they can be brought out to Tanderra on the Saturday morning. Alternatively they can be dropped off
at Dawn's Green Patch Stall in the main hall on the Sunday afternoon of the previous market. This is what most people
do and the items are then returned (along with any money if items are sold) on the Saturday morning of the following
market. Each item MUST be clearly marked with your name and price. Each item MUST be clearly itemized on a sheet.
There are sheets available for this. See Dawn at Dawn's Green Patch. ALSO we are always looking for people who are
willing to do a shift on the stall from 9.30 to 3pm. on both Thursday or Friday. You can still bring items whether you vol-
unteer for the shifts or not. For any further details see Dawn in the main hall or ring her on 86457719
Bless YOU

ENJOY
We have had many cash donations for books you have discovered in the Book Room or Overflow section near the Disabled Toilet or Market tables during this cold winter when people are inside reading by the heat-er . Thank you. This has depleted some sections of the Bookroom. Hopefully, Spring must be coming soon and Spring means Spring cleaning. Could you include sorting your book collections and bring what you have finished with to Tanderra so that the bookshelves can be replenished especially Children's picture books.
You can bring your book donations to Tanderra during Markets or drop them off in the Book Room or Over-
flow section on a Thursday.

Would you like to advertise goods, services, displays in your Shop, Stall, or Resident Group?
Contact details for submission: by post to PO Box 659, Whyalla, S.A. 5600 The Board has made the decision to standardise on Ad sizes. The standard Ad will be 8.8cm wide by 6cm deep with a 0.3cm gutter. There will be variations from time to time. Advertisers are reminded that 2015’s advertising rates are due by January Market and that it is still $10.00 for 12 issues—that’s got to be value. Editor
From The Editor As September comes to an end we have a few exciting things coming up in the near future. We have our 25th Anniversary for Tanderra, details on page 8 of Newletter. November will see our annual Melbourne Cup Luncheon, this has been a success in the past so grab your tickets and support Tanderra, come along and have a great lunch and some Melbourne Cup fun. While you are at Tanderra pop in and see the new Rail Model centre.
We are always on the lookout for preloved goods for our own Second hand shop. This is located in the northern end of ‘H’ Block. There are some guidelines about what can be offered for sale. NO electrical goods, no underwear. Anything offered needs to be clean and complete. If games, or puzzles, or jig-saw puzzles, then please make sure that all components are there. And if there were instructions on how to play a game please make sure that they are included. See Shaz in her shop diagonally across from the second-hand shop.
Dropping Off and Picking Up Stall Holders and Shop Occupiers are reminded that as the Market officially opens at 10:00 am and closes at 4:00 pm, all vehicles MUST be vacated from the roadway between the Main Building and ‘H’ and ‘J’ Blocks by 9:45 am and are NOT permitted in until after 4:00 pm. This is for the safety of members, visitors and patrons. It has been noted that cars are being parked between the Model and Main buildings, this is not an option as this area is sometimes used for displays or outside stall(s), children’s entertainment etc.
STEEL CAP GALLERY
Finally after years of planning and waiting models and memorabilia form out of storage in Yarin-
ga have been delivered. They are from actual machinery located within OneSteel Steelworks. Cur-
rently they are in storage in ReVeg and Steel Cap Gallery. The displays at Steel Cap Gallery still
require a lot of work to improve their appearances through refurbishing them for display.
If any member has any second hand single quilt covers they no longer want, can they please do-
nate them to The gallery. They would be used as dust covers over the displays on the Verandah.
The Gallery is looking very good now. There have been a lot of interstate travellers through the
last couple of months.
