    ST. BARBARA’S PARISH NEWS

    "As we are able to gather for in-person Masses, on a document released on September 12, 2020, the Holy See reminds of us the importance of coming physically to Mass.

    Please see below the letter from His Eminence Cardinal Robert Sarah, Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments entitled,

    "Let Us Return to the Eucharist with Joy!" The letter was personally approved by His Holiness Pope Francis: - "We cannot live, be Christians, fully realizing or humanity and the desires for good and happiness that dwell in our hearts without the Word of the Lord, which in the celebration of the liturgy takes shape and becomes a living word, spoken by God for those who today open their hearts to listen; - "We cannot live as Christians without participating in the Sacrifice of the Cross in which the Lord Jesus gives himself unreservedly to save, by his death, humanity which had died because of sin; the Redeemer associ-ates humanity with himself and leads it back to the Father; in the embrace of the Crucified One all human suf-fering finds light and comfort; - "We cannot be without the banquet of the Eucharist, the table of the Lord to which we are invited as sons and daughters, brothers and sisters to receive the Risen Christ himself, present in body, blood, soul and di-vinity in that Bread of heaven which sustains us in the joys and labours of this earthly pilgrimage; - "We cannot be without the Christian community, the family of the Lord: we need to meet our brothers and sisters who share the sonship of God, the fraternity of Christ, the vocation and the search for holiness and the salvation of their souls in the rich diversity of ages, personal histories, charisms and vocations; - "We cannot be without the house of the Lord, which is our home, without the holy places where we were born to faith, where we discovered the provident presence of the Lord and discovered the merciful embrace that lifts up those who have fallen, where we consecrated our vocation to marriage or religious life, where we prayed and gave thanks, rejoiced and wept, where we entrusted to the Father our loved ones who had com-pleted their earthly pilgrimage; - "We cannot be without the Lord's Day, without Sunday which gives light and meaning to the succession of days of work and to family and social responsibilities." Thank you for encouraging our people to attend Mass, Bishop Tim Freyer

    ST. BARBARA’S PARISH NEWS

    "Como somos capaces de reunirnos para misas en persona, en un documento publicado el 12 de septiembre de 2020, la

    Santa Sede nos recuerda la importancia de venir físicamente a misa". -> La carta de Su Eminencia el Cardenal Robert

    Sarah, Prefecto de la Congregación para el Culto Divino y la Disciplina de los Sacramentos titulada: "¡VOLVAMOS A LA

    EUCARISTÍA CON ALEGRÍA!" La carta fue aprobada personalmente por Su Santidad el Papa Francisco:

    -"No podemos vivir, ser cristianos, darse cuenta plenamente o de la humanidad y sus deseos de bien y la felicidad que

    habitan en nuestros corazones sin la Palabra del Señor, que en la celebración de la liturgia toma forma y se convierte en

    una palabra viva, pronunciada por Dios para los que hoy abren sus corazones para escuchar;

    "No podemos vivir como cristianos sin participar en el Sacrificio de la Cruz en el que el Señor Jesús se entrega sin

    reservas para salvar, con su muerte, a la humanidad que había muerto a causa del pecado; el Redentor asocia a la hu-

    manidad consigo mismo y la lleva de vuelta al Padre; en el abrazo del Crucificado todo sufrimiento humano encuentra luz

    y consuelo;

    - "No podemos estar sin el banquete de la Eucaristía, la mesa del Señor a la que estamos invitados como hijos e hijas,

    hermanos y hermanas a recibir a Cristo resucitado, presente en cuerpo, sangre, alma y divinidad en ese pan de los cielos

    que nos sostiene en las alegrías y los trabajos de esta peregrinación terrenal;

    - "No podemos estar sin la comunidad cristiana, la familia del Señor: necesitamos encontrarnos con nuestros hermanos y

    hermanas que comparten la filiación de Dios, la fraternidad de Cristo, la vocación y la búsqueda de la santidad y la

    salvación de sus almas en la rica diversidad de edades, historias personales, carismas y vocaciones;

    - "No podemos estar sin la casa del Señor, que es nuestro hogar, sin los lugares santos donde nacimos a la fe, donde

    descubrimos la presencia providente del Señor y descubrimos el abrazo misericordioso que levanta a los que han caído,

    donde consagramos nuestra vocación al matrimonio o a la vida religiosa, donde oramos y damos gracias, nos regoci-

    jamos y lloramos, donde confiamos al Padre a nuestros seres queridos que habían completado su peregrinación terrenal;

    - "No podemos estar sin el Día del Señor, sin el domingo que da luz y significado a la sucesión de días de trabajo y a las

    responsabilidades familiares y sociales."

    Gracias por animar a nuestra gente a asistir a misa. El Señor Obispo Timothy E. Freyer, D.D.
