Stated Communication September 8th
Dinner at 6:00pm Meeting at 7:30pm
…from the East Brethren,
It was a long hot summer but we managed to squeeze in some good times at the lodge! We started the summer months with a lighter schedule than normal but still accomplished a great deal. We asked the help of White Mountain Lodge No. 3 to do a Courtesy Work for us in initiating, passing and raising Brother Parker before he went to join the Merchant Marines. We bid farewell to our beloved DDGM, laid to rest a brother, relieved a couple and granted scholarship awards to three fine young ladies. We also saw some of our new Brethren stepped up and volunteered to do degree works and deliver the lectures and the charges.
The rest of the year will focus on trying to reach out to the community, more ritual trainings and a planning meeting to help lay the strategies and objectives for the next batch of officers.
The September schedules are as follows: - Sept 01, Training, practice on Grand Lodge Officers reception, proficiencies. - Sept 07, Board of Trustee Meeting - Sept 08, Stated Meeting, Please wear dark suits with tie; especially the officers. - Sept 15, Fellowcraft Degree Ritual - Sept 21, Special Board of Trustee Meeting - Sept 22, Proficiency, Practice on MM Degree Ritual - Sept 29, MM Degree Ritual
Again, if you are interested in learning the degree work and participating in the rituals, kindly approach any of the pedestal officers and we will accommodate you.

… from the West
Brethren,
There are a number of qualities that set Freemasonry apart from other organizations. One has to marvel at the antiquity of the Craft - owing to its astonishing continuity - and a global interest in the Fraternity that spans many cultures and national borders.
I was raised a scant four years ago, but in reflecting upon the obvious value of Speculative Ma-sonry, I have come to believe that the true power of the Fraternity is that learning and teaching are fundamental to the Craft.
Learning and delivering ritual in the Lodge is a valuable discipline, with benefits that can last a lifetime. I urge all members of Apache #69 to step forward and volunteer to learn and teach part of our time-honored message.

… from the South
Brothers, A few months back, I had a somewhat confrontational conversation with a Brother who was con-vinced that those who engaged in Appendant Body activities were disloyal to the blue lodge because it took energy and time away from supporting it. The more I gently, but firmly disagreed, the more insistent and angry he became—we finally agreed to disagree and moved on. Ironically, last month he became a Shriner and excitedly shared how much he enjoys it and that it brought a whole new meaning of Masonry to him. No, I did not rub it in, I just shook his hand and congratulated him. And that brings me to one of the primary points of engaging in Masonic activities outside of your home Lodge—that of adding to, not detracting from, your Masonic journey. Each Mason must decide how involved they become in all things Masonic, where their Masonic interests leads them, time, money, efforts, etc. My personal testimony is that I am a better Mason and man for all of my involvement. The travels alone give contrast and context for Apache Lodge (which I consider to be my home Lodge) when I visit or sit in other Lodges, the old saying of, “No two lodges are the same,” is proven every time I set foot in a different one. Traveling increases your circle of Masonic friends and increases your tolerance of differences. Traveling can also challenge your understanding of ritual and to give one ideas of things to try. So, my Brothers, maybe we should consider taking some baby steps and put together a team that travels to some lodges around the state. What do you think…?

...Celebrate with our Brothers on their special month
… from the Secretary’s table
Brothers,
A moment of your time on a very important matter.
There are many in the Lodge who over time, necessity and thru position have acquired the email addresses and other very private information collected by the Secretary office on all of the Apache brothers. You, to include this office and all future office holders, have a responsibility to not share that information once you have left that position. There can be only one source and contact point of Lodge information which must always remain with the Secretary office. I have seen emails where the sender did a all call and did not use BCC. A Brothers email address is a personnel thing and should not be used in such a manner.
We are in the age of being too careful is not a vice but a necessity. If you have acquired any such information over time, whether thru past office position or committees, the Lodge requires you to immediately delete /destroy, or in the lexicon of today “wipe clean”, any such information in your possession, printed or electronic. Once you leave that office or committee, your authorized access ends. This includes any remote access or lodge keys that you may have or been established over time.
No one other then the Worshipful Master (or those authorized by the Worshipful Master, i.e., Committee Chairman’s) and this office is authorized access to your information.
I stated in the beginning that this office will not share your information to anyone not authorized to see or use it, or if within those parameters, request your permission first. There can only be one source of Lodge information, the Secretary office. That office becomes the defacto firewall for the Lodge and its Brothers.
I will trust that those of you who have such information will abide by the Masonic code of ethics in this matter and proceed with all due diligence and speed.
Thank you,
PAUL SWIETEK Secretary, Apache Lodge No.69 [email protected]

The York Rite is made up of a lot of bodies (topic for next article); the three most known are the Royal Arch Masons (Red Coats), the Cryptic Masons (Purple Coats), and the Knights Templar (Black Uniforms, spiffy hat, and sword). The Arizona York Rite just finished up its Annual Communications and you should be pleased that Apache Lodge members were highly visible in two of the orders: WB Bill Greenen just completed his year as the Most Illustrious Grand Master of Arizona Cryp-
tic Masons—he will be forever known as a “Most Illustrious Grand Master”. WB “Mac” McClintock was just installed as Grand Commander, Knights Templar Arizona. Brother Lowell “Ed” Fox appointed to several committees in the Arizona Grand Commandery. Several of our Brothers (Tim, Kurt, Gary and myself) performed major ritual parts in opening
the Grand Council. For those who may be interested in the York Rite, talk to Tim Arimborgo, myself (Ed Fox), WB Bill Greenen, or WB Mac McClintock.

September 2016
This is the 26th annual for the Colorado River Fall Festival where all the Degrees of the York Rite except the Blue Lodge Degrees are given at one 2 ½ Day Festival in Laughlin, Nevada. The festival takes place at the Riverside Hotel and Casino on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday October 16th through October 18th. There are Ladies activities for the wives of the attendees or their significant others. This will be the last festival until 2017. So, if you wish to become a Knight Templar this year and receive the special Knight of Malta Jewel, you need to register now and also fill out a petition for the York Rite. You can get these petitions from WB Bill Greenen, Brother Tim Arimbargo or Brother Ed Fox. This will be fun and I hope to see you there in Laughlin! Fraternally,
Darius “Mac” McClintock, KYCH GRAND COMMANDER KNIGHTS TEMPLAR OF ARIZONA
