• ‘Money and Celebrity’ is released on 16th September 2011 on Cooking Vinyl through Shock and was recorded and produced by Stephen Street (Kaiser Chiefs, Blur, The Smiths) in London earlier this year.• They released their debut album ‘Young For Eternity’ in 2005. Quickly becoming festival favourites with their energetic and thrilling live shows, the band travelled the world before starting work on the follow up ‘All Or Nothing’ with producer Butch Vig.• The Subways released the brand new song ‘It’s A Party’ on Thurs-day afternoon (16th June) via their website with no prior warning, and the track was downloaded over 1,000 times within the hour almost cashing their server. • Pixies leader Black Francis has hooked up with singer-songwriter Reid Paley to record the album Paley & Francis, which Shock Records will release on October 9. Muscle Shoals veterans Da-vid Hood and Spooner Oldham played bass and piano, respec-tively.• In their own words… “This album was recorded in two relatively short days this past September 2010 in Nashville, Tennessee. All fi rst takes. We wrote the music for the songs in Paley’s apartment in Brooklyn over three afternoons when Fran-cis was in New York for a three day run at Joe’s Pub. After which we each took half of the songs to fi nish off with lyrics, and Francis went off to meet what he some-times likes to call “the old band” for another tour. A few days later, we were recording at Jon Tiven’s studio in Nashville. We each sang lead on the songs we wrote lyrics for and sang backup on the others. We worked fast. Francis had Pixies shows each evening, so we had a curfew. Paley recalls fi nishing the lyrics to one tune literally a minute be-fore cutting the vocal. • The Travelling Band’s shimmering blend of cosmic-country-pop, understated psychedelia, vocal harmonies and nu-folk has made them one of the most talked about artists to emerge from the Manchester music scene.• A recording project in New York City in 2006 led a collective of like minded souls to record what was to become ‘Under The Pavement’, their debut studio album. Released two years later, the record was very well received by the UK media, gaining BBC Radio 6 ‘Album of The Day’, BBC Radio 2’s ‘Single of The Week’ and a featured song in the Ian Dury biopic ‘Sex Drugs & Rock n Roll’.• The Travelling Band on the recording of ‘Screaming Is Something’ The album was recorded in a few different locations but most of the recording was done in a converted church called Kinclochspelve on the Isle of Mull in Scotland. It was so desolate and tranquil on Mull and that gave that session a real focus. Producing the album ourselves was made more interesting and challenging by being so far away from anywhere and we encountered plenty of technical problems that we simply couldn’t do anything about as we were cut off from the rest of the world. There had been some scepticism from within the band at fi rst whether we could pull off such an ambitious location recording but once we scoped it out we realised it was going to be a lot fun.

• Every now and then a band comes along and speaks to the hearts of kids everywhere, as the true voice of their generation. Man Overboard is that band. In an age when overnight internet sessions are an everyday occurrence, it’s hard to fi nd a band that’s grown organically, the old fashioned way, with word of mouth and non-stop touring while winning kids over one show at a time.• Man Overboard has been busy touring the world non-stop for the past 3 years, having shared the stage with the likes of Senses Fail, Polar Bear Club, Set Your Goals, and more. The bands buzz reached New Found Glory’s guitar player Steve Klein who fell in love with their infectious pop-punk sound and catchy choruses.
