Urban Gardening 101: Fall & Winter Edition!

Back by popular demand, HYP presents the Urban Gardening 101

Workshop for Fall & Winter! Would you like to start your own small

garden or maintain the garden you started this Spring? Do you want

more information on how to have a successful garden at your home in

the city? HYP is gearing up for Fall and would like to share some

helpful tips and tricks at Urban Gardening 101!

On Saturday, September 20 at 9:30am join us on City Island inHarrisburg. All are welcome to attend, and will take home a plant to

start a garden at home! Lunch will be provided to attendees. This

event will also include an informative session and small lesson for the

average "do-it-yourselfer" interested in gardening "dos and dont's"

and tips for this season.

New Member Social Tonight

New HYP members are invited to join HYP for a New Member Social

on Monday, September 15 at 6:00pm at Cafe 1500. Join HYP to

mingle with your fellow new members and learn more about how to

become involved.An RSVP is required for this event by noon on

September 15. To RSVP, please email membership@hyp.org.

HYP 5 Miler for 5 Charities

Join HYP for the 5 Miler for 5 Charities on Saturday, October 4th in

Downtown Harrisburg! The 5 Miler for 5 welcomes all abilities, as well

as those who would like to walk or jog with their dog or kids in

strollers.

The race starts and finishes on City Island in Harrisburg. The race

course takes in some of the most scenic areas of Harrisburg, starting

at City Island, running through Riverside Park, then along the Capital

Area Greenbelt and the Susquehanna River.
