KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS WORLD DAY OF PRAYER FOR PEACE - September 11th marks the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the United States. Since 2004 the Knights of Columbus has observed its World Day of Prayer for Peace on this anniversary. We honor the thousands who lost their lives on that day and we pray for peace among nations. We pray that religion will be a means of peace and accord and not an excuse for violence and division. Please join us by praying the following Prayer for Peace, which was delivered by Pope Benedict XVI during a Prayer Service at Ground Zero on April 20, 2008: "God of peace, bring your peace to our violent world: peace in the hearts of all men and women and peace among the nations of the earth. Turn to your way of love those whose hearts and minds are consumed with hatred. God of understanding, overwhelmed by the magnitude of this tragedy, we seek your light and guidance as we confront such terrible events. Grant that those whose lives were spared may live so that the lives lost…may not have been lost in vain. Comfort and console us, strengthen us in hope, and give us the wisdom and courage to work tirelessly for a world where true peace and love reign among nations and in the hearts of all." ST. PATRICK COLUMBIAN SQUIRES: Circle 4481 would like to invite all Catholic young men, age 10 to 18, to join the Squires. The Columbian Squires is the official youth organization of the Knights of Columbus. Become a leader and serve others, with other Catholic young men, through projects and other activities.
