The August 25, 2019 Stewardship report is not available this week due to an early bulletin deadline.

It will be included in the September 8, 2019 bulletin.

Everyday Stewardship

Recognize God in Your Ordinary Moments

Plan Wisely

What would happen if you found out right now that

relatives of yours were coming into town tomorrow, and

they hoped to stay with you? You can either tell them

they can’t stay with you, or you immediately begin a

process of furiously cleaning, straightening up, and

grocery shopping in anticipation of your guests. If you

don’t have to do anything to prepare because your home

is perfect, clean, and fully stocked, perhaps you don’t live

in your home or you are obsessive compulsive. I suspect

most people reading this would go into panic mode!

We spend much time putting off things until later. Then

when something unexpected happens, we swing into

action to deal with it or prepare for its effects. We would

have acted differently if we knew what was coming down

the road.

What does your stewardship way of life look like? Are you

living as if you have forever, or are you living as if Jesus

could return any moment and your life here on earth

could end tomorrow? The gift of time is often taken for

granted. If we live more mindfully of that gift, we waste

less of it and maximize the moments in which we find

ourselves. We give of ourselves in ways that are more

meaningful and productive. The gift of tomorrow is not

promised to you, but the gift of today has already been

given. Use this day wisely because who knows what

tomorrow may bring.

Guidelines for 2020 Mass Intentions

Scheduled Mass Intentions: The Mass intention book

will be open, Tuesday, September 3, 2019 to receive

Mass intentions for 2020. There are three Intentions per

Mass and will be filled on a first come first served basis.

No 2020 Mass Intention requests will be accepted prior to

may be requested.

New this year: Each week, one weekend Mass will be

dedicated to All Our Parishioners and no other Mass

Intentions will be scheduled at that Mass. This will rotate

between the Saturday evening Mass and the four Masses

on Sunday. This will also apply on Holy Days.

Unscheduled Mass Intentions are also accepted. These

Mass intentions are offered either by our parish priests or

by other La Salette Missionaries. These Mass intentions

are not announced or published in the bulletin. Many La

Salette priests gladly welcome these intentions for their

daily Masses.

You may drop off your Mass Intention requests and

stipends at the Reception Desk during regular

business hours, Monday Friday, 8:30 AM 5:30 PM,

beginning Tuesday, September 3, 2019. Please do not

leave them lying on the Reception Desk.

These requests must be made in writing to assure

accurate information (spelling, living or deceased, etc.).

The Mass Intention Form may be printed from the Mary

Queen Website at www.maryqueencatholicchurch.org

(home page, left side, under documents) or picked up at

the Parish Office. If a requested date/time is not available

the person requesting will be contacted by Rhonda

Hansen to choose an alternate date/time.

The suggested Mass stipend is $5.00 for each Mass,

scheduled or unscheduled. Please make all checks for

Mass intentions payable to the Missionaries of La

Salette.

Creation Care Ministry

Did you know waste plastics and foam (polystyrene) have

now been identified by global scientists, the Vatican staff,

his holiness Pope Francis and the American Conference

of Catholic Bishops as a destructive global crisis that

must be stopped? There are concentrations of waste

plastics in our oceans that in some places range from the

ocean's surface down to the sea floor. About 8 million

metric tons of waste plastics enter the oceans each year

and about 236,000 tons are microplastics (tiny pieces of

plastic). Birds and fish are mistaking the small bits of

plastic and foam for food and they are dying by the

thousands. It is predicted without significant changes by

2050 there will be more plastic in the oceans than

fish. The Creation Care Ministry is on the front lines of

positive change to reduce this pollution. If you have an

interest in joining the Creation Care effort, please contact

Stephanie Monroig at[email protected].
