GMUMC Youth News ~ September-2012 Sunday, September 2 nd – Labor Day Weekend No youth…Enjoy the last weekend of summer! Sunday, September 9 th All Church Kick- Off 11:30- 1:00 PM Come eat and talk with the church members that support all of our events, mission trips and programs! Bring a d ish to share and meet someone over 18 in our church!! Then we will jump into our own youth kick-off. Continuing the 9 th Youth Kick-Off - App Store ….Live!!! 1:00 - 3:00pm Do you have a favorite App? Temple Run?? 100 th Floor? Fruit Ninja? Angry Birds? We might just have turned your favorite into a live game! Come start off the school year right…playing App games and hanging out with friends! Sunday, September 16 th Annual Second Wind Walk/Run 11:15-2:30pm This walk/run benefits teen suicide prevention in the Jefferson County area. We will meet at the church at 11:15 for pre-registered youth that want a ride over to the walk, but you can also meet us over at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. Parents will need to pick you up from the Fairgrounds by 2:30. There will be door prizes, live music, t-shirts and lunch provided! Register online $20 for youth & $35 for adults. Be sure to list Green Mtn. United Methodist Church as your team http://www.runningguru.com/EventInformation.asp?eID=3580 If you would rather set up a fundraising page, you can use the same link. You can also register at the walk, but that’s always chaotic! Registration at the walk closes at 11:30 am and you will need to get yourself to the Fairgrounds. To meet up with our group at the eve nt, look for us near the playground. Sunday, September 23 rd Morning 2013 Youth Mission Trip meeting 9:00 am Mission Trip Information meeting for youth and parents. Come decide where we are going!!! If you are new to mission trip, come find out what it is all about. We will begin organizing our 2013 mission experiences! Giftcard sales will begin in Oct. Sunday, September 23 rd Ideas and Games 6:00- 8:00pm Youth Group is ALL about you! Programs, activities and events should be what the youth want!!! Come share your ideas and help plan the youth year!! We know you want new fun things to happen in youth… not just the same programs each year, but we need to know what is important in your lives right now! Once we do some planning, we will go play some fun NEW games!! Been to the Caribbean or any island?? Sunday September 30 th Parent & Sponsor Meet and Greet 4:30- 6:00pm Parents come join us for Mock-tails and appetizers. Come get to know the sponsors, ask questions, give us your input on the program. Youth are welcome to join us or hang in the youth rooms. (Youth- you do not get to tell your parents not to come…we want to get to know them all!!) Sunday, September 30 th Gossi p and Confidenti ality 6:00- 8:00pm “Rumor has it”… what has the gossip mill got a hold of now?? How do we trust o ther people to keep our confidence?
