I. SEO GLOSSARY INSTALL

Our component is Joomla 1.7 to 2.5 compatible.

In order to install our component you should use standard Joomla installer.

Then click on Browse > Install & upload button, component, modules and plugins will be installed activated by default.

It’s not just a component, but 2 modules & 2 plugins. Everything is built to be installed/uninstalled by default in one single action.

II. GLOSSARY CONTENT CREATION

The SEO Glossary content is organized with glossaries that contain definitions entries. In order to start added your content you should consider:

Will you need only one glossary with a lot of definitions A lot of glossaries with their own content

NOTE: glossaries are multilingual and unlimited.

In order to add a glossary just go on Component > SEO Glossary then click on “Manage glossaries”.

You’ll find some standard Joomla control buttons on the top right of your screen.

To add a new glossary, click on new.

Note: like any Joomla article, it’s possible to publish/unpublish – archive - trash/untrash your glossaries

To achieve the glossary you should at least type a name, to complete the parameters you can also fill the description, the language and the publication status.

The language parameter is fully integrated with Joomla native multilingual

To finish editing your glossary, please save it.

You have now the possibility to add a custom alphabet to each glossary. It means that for example you can have an alphabet with only numbers and one with only 3 letters.

In order to add definition terms in your glossarary, on the panel click on “Manage Entries”

You’ll access to the definitions terms listing. You can use 2 tools to filter your entries if they’re numerous: the filter

& the status.

To add a new definition, use the standard Joomla button New on the top right of your screen.

Then proceed to the entry edition

You should fill:

The category of the definition equal the glossary

The term

The definition with a possibility to put HTML

The status

Eventually the author mane and Email

To finish editing your glossary, please save it.

Then you’ll see your new definition in the listing.

Now your definition is automatically added to all term find in your Joomla content!

You have the possibility to disable this automatic functionality using the parameter use content plugin.

III. CONTROL THE FRONTEND DISPLAY

To display a complete glossary with all his definition please create a Joomla standard menu choosing as type

Glossaries and chooses a glossary.

Then you have the availability to display a complete glossary with all definitions terms.

With SEO Glossary component you get a complete configuration panel to control:

Clicking on the configuration button will open the configuration lightbox on Joomla 2.5 or option button under

Joomla 3.0

The frontend parameters give you the control of the elements displayed on the component view.

Call the content plugin: display the automatic tooltip on Joomla content

Alphabet display: display alphabet on top or bottom of the component

Glossary search: display the search block with possibility to make a “sound like” search

Term count: display the number of definitions in the glossary

Author: display the author mane/Email in definitions

Sound like for searches enable an option for searching (for errors during typing words)

Entries per page: number of definitions per page before getting a numeration

Autopublish frontend: when a user submit a definition it can be automatically validated

Glossary name and description: display glossary parameters in definitions

List of the glossaries: if SEO Glossary contain more than one glossary you can display a list of them

The frontend Email parameters are for Email notification and thank of administrator and user

Tooltip display parameters are useful for the component to completely fit your template regarding the colors of

the font, background and border.

You can also control the HTML display in tooltips it can be interesting for a definition with image.

Since version 1.1, you’re now able to control the display of the definition to the glossary, it means that you can only

show tooltips without any link to his glossary.

The permission parameters are necessary to allow user to submit entries from frontend.

To allow users to submit please allow the creation for public users for example.

Finally the advanced parameters allow you to:

Choose the tag to use in order to disable definitions highlight in content, for example if you add

{seog:disable} in a Joomla article the definition won’t be shown in this article.

Letter regular expression prefix: this is php expression used to determine your definition prefix

Content detection regex: this is php expression used to detect your definition in the text

SEO Glossary also have 2 modules and one search plugin.

The first module “Latest SEO Glossary” is used to display a list of the latest entries. You can control the number

of entries displayed

The second module “List SEO Glossary” is used to create list of specific definitions controlling the number of

them, the length and the glossary.

Finally, the search plugin is a standard Joomla search plugin to integrate glossary definition in search queries. You

have also the control of the number of elements to display per search in the plugin parameters.
