Why Plant Churches?

The vigorous, continual planting of new congregations is the single most crucial strategy for 1) the numerical growth of the Body of Christ in any city, and 2) the continual corporate renewal and revival of the existing churches in a city. Nothing else—not crusades, outreach programs, para-church ministries, growing mega-churches, congregational consulting, nor church renewal processes—will have the consistent impact of dynamic, extensive church planting. This is an eyebrow raising statement. But to those who have done any study at all, it is not even controversial.

WHERE WE PLANT

The East Coast has many culture shaping cities, college towns, influencers, and impoverished subcultures that need the good news. SENT Network is currently planting churches in and around key cities like D.C., Annapolis, Richmond, and NYC. We’ve started in the cities, subcultures, and neighborhoods of the Mid-Atlantic, but we envision the good news spreading as we multiply into other regions as well. We hope to expand to Baltimore, Philadelphia, Boston, and other cities in the near future.

We long for the U.S. to cease being the largest mission field in the Western Hemisphere. We are committed to engage the younger generations and help reach the 78 million people in our part of the East Coast who need the gospel proclaimed and embodied through fresh expressions of the body of Christ.

We are convinced that innovative Spirit-empowered church planting will impact the U.S. mission field in the most significant ways! Healthy planting introduces the lost to Christ and renews existing churches.

Why Sent Network?

SENT collaborates with local churches to plant churches in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast.

We relationally assess, equip, coach, and resource lead planters and their teams.

Our training team customizes and personalizes the training of each lead planter’s Head (understanding and imagination), Heart (character and motivation), and Hands (practices and skills).

The SENT Leadership Team is a theologically informed team of practitioners (not theorists). We are living it. Our seasoned team draws upon decades of experience as pastors, missionaries, planters, trainers and coaches who have trained all types of leaders, pastors, and planters.

We keep our operations lean and steward funds with a high level of accountability and integrity.

SENT doesn’t have just one model of church we clone. We champion the practice of shared values, centered on Christ and shaped by mission, and adapt for each context.
