The City of Greater Bendigo is proud to support the 36th Victorian Seniors Festival, which takes place from October 7 – 14, 2018 and offers a range of free and low-cost events and activities for older Victorians.

The Seniors Festival has been designed to celebrate you and the wonderful contribution of older Australians to our community and I hope you embrace this opportunity to join with friends and enjoy the variety of events on offer.

Highlights of this year’s program include the opening event - The Bobby Darin Tribute Show at the Capital Theatre, which includes classic hits from the 50s and 60s such as Dream Lover.

Other events taking place include dance classes, walking groups, come and try days, fun and laughter, information sessions, gardening, lunches, afternoon teas and even a lesson on the art of flying remote controlled aircraft.

Greater Bendigo is aiming to be the world’s most liveable community and events such as the Seniors Festival are helping us to achieve this goal.

This year there are events to suit everyone, so please take advantage of everything on offer and enjoy the festival.

Living history seniors lunch and live music Catch up with friends (old and new), have a chat, share some history and stories whilst enjoying a two course lunch, listen to music and dance the afternoon away with KandL in one of Bendigo’s oldest pubs. Our living luncheons have been created for anyone who has a story to tell about their community in the Bendigo district. Bring along photos, clippings or even tell a story about your community. All welcome, bookings appreciated.

Untold Histories - Rural LGBTI Seniors Thorne Harbour Country and City of Greater Bendigo

Join us for a get together to celebrate our LGBTI seniors and their contribution to our society. There will be a short documentary film that will explore the lived experiences of LGBTI elders, followed by a panel discussion and light refreshments. The film will be on a screen in the library for the duration of Seniors Week.
