Chicago Fit 4 Life Fas ng to get there faster!

Fas ng is the act of giving up food or certain foods for a period of me. This isthe Lent season (Lent deriving from the word Lengthen) or 40days before Easterand billions of people worldwide will be depriving themselves of certain foodsand/or acts. Many of us understand fas ng but do not understand how good itreally is for your body. Here are a few bene ts of fas ng:

Fas ng helps rest the system: Our intake everyday causes our diges ve systemundergo the process of diges on several mes each day. Fas ng for a period is thought to o er some rest and respite for the bodyssystems. This is also thought to provide me for the system to heal and rejuve-nate itself.Cleansing and elimina on of toxins: Fas ng is thought to cleanse the body oftoxins and help ush them out. This is par cularly true in the case of waterfas ng, so that the system is ushed and cleansed of toxins and other harmfulsubstances.Even the mind can get help achieve greater clarity with fas ng, it is claimed.According to some experts, fas ng helps improve the health of the liver since itdetoxi es the liver.Helping one remain younger: For a long me now, it has been thought that therenewing and refreshing impact of fas ng can help slow the aging process. Thisis probably because of the fact that fas ng reduces glucose and insulin in theblood and therefore reduces oxida ve stress on the body.Good for the immune system: Since the intes nes are also rested during a fast, this can help to increase the amount of good bacteria that lines the intes neshelping to give a boost to the immune system.Fas ng can also increase white blood cell count according to some studies andthis can help to destroy harmful bacteria in the body.

Types of Fast: Water Fast or Full Fast

Drink only liquids, the best liquid to drink is water. This fast really assists withushing out your system. The best water to drink is spring water during this fast.

Monitor your energy level very closely because when you are drinking only liq-uids then your body becomes weak at a certain point and you will need solidfood. Start back ea ng solid food with soup, then move on to fruits and vegeta-bles and eventually meat.

    The Daniel Fast

Eat no meat, no sweets and no bread. Drink water and 100% juice. Eat fruits andvegetables. Stay away from white potatoes.

3-Day Fast This fast can be a Full Fast, Daniel Fast or give up at least one item of food. Youhave to prepare ahead of me for all fast, dont try to just fast on the morningyou wake up.

    Par al Fast

A par al fast is from sun up to sundown. You can select from three types offas ng a Full Fast, Daniel Fast or give up at least one item of food. You caneven perform a dry fast where you dont eat or drink anything during this me.Just remember to reduce your level of physical ac vity because you do not haveany calories to burn for energy.
