OUR VOLUNTEERS ARE UN-BEE-LIEVABLE
VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION LUNCHEON Friday, July 20 at 11:30 a.m. (by invitation)
Greenfield Senior Center volunteers work hard every day to staff the front desk, plan programs, teach fitness classes, distribute literally tons of food, work in the kitchen and garden, and much more. On July 20, 2018 we host a luncheon celebrating you, our volunteers, and your contributions. The Greenfield COA Volunteer of the Year Award 2018 will be presented. All active volunteers, watch for your invitation in the mail! Representatives of community partner organizations will also be sent an invitation. Guest tickets may be available for $20 each, on a space available basis. Please inquire after July 10 about guest tickets.
Please Note: the Center will be closed to the public all day on July 20. Thank you to our event sponsors, MA Office of Elder Affairs and McCarthy Funeral Home.
CRAFTASTIC: 4TH OF JULY TIE DYE Tuesday, July 3rd, 1:00-3:00 p.m. (rain date Thursday, July 5th)
Try out our newest craft group — Craftastic. We kick-off this fun program with a July 4th theme! Celebrate Independence Day with red and blue tie dye. All you need is two or three white, 100% cotton items — such as shirts, socks, or pillowcases — to tie dye. All other materials will be provided. You will take home your items with care instructions. Free of charge. Registration is required and space is limited. Greenfield Residents only. Stop by Front Desk or call 413-772-1517 ext. 0 to register. Watch for more Craftastic fun next month!
VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT We’ve had more than a few changes
since moving Greenfield’s Senior Center from Weldon House to John Zon Community Center. But one thing hasn’t changed — this volunteer team. Senior Center Volunteers, Ethan and Dorothy, have been working together most Wednesday evenings for
about three years. This dynamic duo is a fantastic example of multi-generational volunteering. Thank you, Dorothy and Ethan!!!

Dorothy and Ethan at new Center,
now they’re BOTH seniors! CONGRATULATIONS, ETHAN!

SILVERTHORNE THEATER PRESENTS Thursday, July 5, 1:00-2:00 p.m.
Lucinda Kidder discusses the theater company’s third
show of the season and another world premiere,
White, Black & Blue, the work of two local play-
wrights, dealing with timely – and timeless – issues.
Walter, a black man, breaks into the home of Joe, an
older white man, late at night. Walter has fled the
scene of an altercation with a white off-duty police
officer, during which he took the officer’s gun. It’s
not the way it seems. Issues of race, trust, responsibil-
ity & last straws comprise powerful themes in the
story. We’ll talk about the ways in which expecta-
tions and context shape behavior and opinion. Open
to all Greenfield Senior Center members. Member-
ship is free. Pre-registration requested, drop-in on
space available basis only. Please stop by the Front
Desk or call (413) 772-1517 ext 0 to reserve your seat
SNAP ASSISTANCE Thursday, July 5 from 10:00-11:00 a.m.
Drop in to see the SNAP
Coordinator from Food Bank of

Bag food distribution). Find out
if you’re eligible for SNAP
