Six Days Executive ‘Business Innovation and

Sustainability’ Programme

Some of the challenges that keep owners and

decision makers of Malaysian SMEs up at night are

the growing competition, the volatile economic

climate, the scarceness of qualified and motivated

resources and the constant pressure to innovate and

realign the business.

Studies in developed countries have indicated that

some of the Critical Success Factors for SMEs are;

Innovation to stay competitive, Strategic Planning to

think ahead and sustain the business and solid HR

practices to enable continuous improvement of the

workforce through training and skill upgrading.

Perintis Embun, in cooperation with HRDF and with

Vlerick Business School in Gent, Belgium, is

organising a 1 week executive training programme

that will address these issues and that will prepare

the participants to take their business to the next

level.

The programme is an advanced leadership programme

for CEOs, Managing Directors, Directors and other

decision makers of Small and Medium Enterprises

(SMEs) that are registered with the HRDF.

The programme is specifically designed to enhance the

business acumen of Malaysian entrepreneurs and to

expose them to an excellent executive programme

conducted by one of the top business schools in

Europe. The emphasis of the programme is “Business

Innovation and Sustainability’. The approach will be an

experiential learning programme and will feature

interactive lectures, industrial visits and knowledge

sharing with local SMEs. There will also be contacts with

the local Chamber of Commerce and other trade

organisations.

The programme will be held from April 23 until April 29,

2017 in Belgium at the campus of Vlerick Business

School.

innovation, productivity etc. It will allow the participants to apply the learned knowledge immediately and to take

The cross-fertilisation with comparable successful SMEs from Belgium and the interaction with the other

OTHER POST PROGRAMME SUPPORT

Also as part of the alumni of the Vlerick Business School, after the

programme all participants will get access to an on-line password

protected library. This platform will include wrap-up ‘knowledge

nuggets’. These are compressed electronic learning objects, which

conveys the learnings of the week and stimulates interest in finding

more information. In addition several readings and a selection of

e-learning modules will be offered to provide participants with the

information they need to work on their growth plans.

PROGRAMME FEE

The value of the programme is RM46,000 and is fully sponsored / funded by the HRDF / SME TAP. The fees / sponsorship includes the following; 1. 6 days course 2. 4 Star Hotel accommodation from the 23rd

until the 29th April 2017 3. Meals and refreshments 4. Travel to business visits and meetings 5. Post programme support 6. Alumni membership The cost of Air Fare is not included in the programme AND will be borne by the participant. If necessary Perintis Embun can assist with making or customising the travel arrangements.

ELIGIBILITY

This programme is specifically designed for the top

management of Malaysian SMEs. Therefore

participants must be CEOs, Managing Directors,

Directors or other decision makers of HRDF

Registered SMEs.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Participants must complete provided forms together

with evidences of employment and qualifications.

Perintis Embun’s program counsellors will assist all

prospective applicants with the application.

Applicants will be required to attend an interview

with HRDF/SME officers before confirmation and

acceptance for the programme.

All participants who have attended the entire programme will receive a personal Vlerick Business School

certificate stating that they have successfully completed the programme. The certificate will mention the

different topics that have been addressed and the duration of the programme.

POST PROGRAMME COACHING

There will be one virtual coaching session with every participant / SME business owner and a faculty member of

the business school during a period of 6 months after the programme. During this coaching session, participants

can discuss their growth plans and faculty members of the programme will provide assistance on how to

implement the lessons learnt adopted during the programme.
