Recollections

Class  of  2012  Sponsor

Entertaining  and  creative,  but  it’s  not  so  much  that  I  think  of  adjectives.  More  than  any  other  class,  the  class  of  2012  has  proven  to  be  good  kids.  All  fathers  worry  about  their  daughters  the  same  way  as  a  teacher  and  coach  you  worry  about  your  students.  I  don’t  worry  about  the  Class  of  2012,  though,  because  they  are  such  good  kids.

always  played  ball,  and  I’m  very  proud  of  that.

Freshmen  year  for  Homecoming  our  skit  was  not  well-‐‑received  by  the  sophomores

reacted  to  it.  I  think  that  contributed  to  the  animosity  between  the  Class  of  2011  and  2012.  I  guess  it  didn’t  really  help  that  we  beat  them  at  most  things,  either.  Also,  when  college  admissions  came  out  it  was  hard.  It  personally  hurt  me  to  hear  that  students  that  I  held  in  such  high  regard  didn’t  get  into  schools  that  they  deserved  to  get  into.  I  guess  that  just  shows  how  unpredictable  the  college  admissions  process  has  become  and  how  hard  it  is  now.

such  a  great  group  of  students  and  also  two  great  co-‐‑sponsors.  It  has  all  made  plan-‐‑ning  less  of  a  chore  and  more  fun.

One  area  is  in  their  research.  I  don’t  know  if  we’ve  ever  had  as  many  Siemens

where  we  had  more.  Also  we  had  a  very  high  level  of  participation  in  the  state

up  with  the  One-‐‑Questions  and  also  many  others  received  grants.  Our  seniors  have  pursued  their  interests  above  and  beyond  the  call  of  duty.

Some  of  the  prom  askings  this  year  have  tested  the  boundaries  of  what  is  permissible  in  terms  of  missing  class  time  and  safety  requirements.  I  know  the  Class  of  2012  had  good  intentions  and  wanted  to  make  the  askings  as  fun  as  possible,  but  it  was  sometimes  hard  for  administrators  because  the  rules  were

had  a  day’s  notice  about  the  event  and  were  still  able  to  arrange  very  thoughtful  presentations  that  impressed  the  president.

driven.

have  a  diverse  range  of  students  who  are  involved  in  different  activities.  All  our  students  seem  to  have  so  many  talents.

all  those  talents  together  and  to  make

get  feedback  on  facebook  or  through  e-‐‑mail  it’s  been  difficult  to  incorporate  everyone’s  opinions  and  to  work  around

had  a  group  that  wanted  to  bring  slounge  back,  but  we  couldn’t  have  it  done.  Also  picking  a  date  for  college  t-‐‑shirt  day  was  hard.  In  the  end,  no  matter  what  decision  you  make  your  going  to  end  up  letting

make  everyone  happy.

-‐‑es,  I  remember  reading  off  the  score  for  seniors  and  hearing  the  class  cheer  after  finding

of  winning  was  great.

Spirited,  sincere  and  spunky.

Our  class  is  so  cohesive  and  supportive  of  one  another.

Sometimes,  communication  is  difficult,  even  though  2012  class  council  tries  to  advertise  through  emails,  fliers  and  announcements.    I  don’t  know  if

been  pretty  lucky.

homecoming.    Marching  around  the  gym  dressed  as  Jedi  with  our  light  sabers  brandished  high  and  the  epic  “Imperial  March”  playing  in  the  back-‐‑ground  is  pretty  unforgettable.

Love  from  the  big  family…

Dear  Burke,From  an  early  age  you  have  astounded  us  with  your  de-‐‑termination  and  perseverance.  You  were  always  think-‐‑ing  and  creating  and  planning.  You  have  grown  from  a  darling  toddler  to  an  extraordinary  young  man.  Please  continue  to  allow  your  innate  strengths  of  compassion  and  integrity  guid  you  as  you  begin  the  next  part  of  your  journey.

We  love  you  with  all  our  hearts,Mom,  Dad,  Taylor,  Ariel,  and  Jackson

“Your  time  is  limited,  don’t  waste  it  living  some-‐‑one  else’s  life.  Don’t  be  trapped  by  dogma,  which  is  living  the  result  of  other  people’s  thinking.  Don’t  let  the  noise  of  other’s  opinion  drown  your  own  inner  voice.  And  most  important,  have  the  courage  to  follow  your  heart  and  intuition,  they  somehow  already  know  what  you  truly  want  to  become.  Everything  else  is  secondary.”
