I. Who am I?

To start off, what most moves me when it comes to things I can dowith my time and, more importantly, with my life, is writing.Writing is my way of communicating my feelings, thoughts andpieces of my soul, of pouring my heart out to the paper and settingit free.

My name is Adriana Mullen-Garzon. Born in San Diego, California onMarch 6th, 1995 and lived speMarch 6th, 1995 and lived spent most of my childhood in Peoria,Illinois. Now I live here, in Bogota, Colombia, and I love it.

I aim to because a successful writer. Not necessarily famous, because I admit fame doesn’t appeal to me that much, but I defi-nitely wish to be successful and, above all, happy. I also aim tokeep music in my life, to keep enjoying the unique, peaceful sensa-tion that it causes in me.

TThe first of these goals I expect to reach through much hard workand study, through dedication to what I love, throughdiscipline and emotion for the path I have chosen. Andthe second, I plan to achieve by never giving up mybeloved guitar, and by making sure I appreciatemusic in all its forms, especially in the forms thathave had such an impact, that they managed toinflueinfluence and shape the music of generations tocome.

II. School BellsWhen I first started school, I went to a daycare centercalled KinderCare for Preschool. Then, when it was timefor kindergarten, I moved on to Saint Vincent de PaulSchool.

I remember that my favorite teachers were Mrs. Dawsonin kindergarten and Ms. Hogan in third grade, and thatmmy favorite subjects were usually art and English, although they varied from time to time.

I learned to read by reading simple books like the Dr. Seussbooks, and enjoyed reading ever since.

For a long period of time I had to be in “aftercare”, whichwas a program established by the school so that thestudents whose parents worked till late had someone to take care of them for a few hours after school. I would work on homework, watch movies and play computer games during that time, and usually got picked up by one of my parents around 6:00 PM.

I spent a lot of time with my brother during recess for the first couple of school years, but then made other friends such as a girl called Gabby and another called Madison.

III. I Grew Up Here

I spent most of my childhood in Peoria, Illinois, although I wasborn in San Diego, California and was also raised during partof my life in Corvalis, Oregon and in Vermont.

Peoria was a small city, with not much to do, but friendly andsafe nonetheless. I enjoyed the weather there, because I couldplay in the water due to the sometimes extreme heat in the summer, but cbut could also play in the snow in the winter. During autumn, theleaves on the trees would turn a beautiful red, orange or yellow, and the spring was gorgeous because of so many flowers in bloom.

My neighborhood was peaceful and very standard, nothing special.I would ride my bike around it a lot of the time, or from my houseto my school, which was only about one block away. It was a verysecure neighborhood, and we knew quite a few of our neighbors andwwould chat with them now and then.

V. Let’s Take a Vacation

A trip I feel the need to take at some point is to Paris. Thiscity really attracts my attention because it is romantic, beautiful, and artistic, and has a great many attractions tovisit. I would like to see the view from the top of the EiffelTower, visit the Louvre Museum, and eat out at severalrestaurants in Paris.

I wI would also like to visit Venice one day, which would beespecially appropriate for me considering how much I loveItalian foood.

Epilogue

If I could change one thing about my character, I wouldgive myself a better memory and a wider attention span, for I’m always forgetting things and I get distractedeasily. This would help me carry out tasks more effi-ciently and would make recalling and rememberingimportant details much simpler.

HHowever, though these are things that I admit I wouldlike to change, I know that I am completely alrightjust the way I am. I am the result of 17 years of hardwork, dedication, love, and life.
