We know the problems… We imagine the “ideal” class is

like…


It is called … Whole Brain Teaching

1. Energetic, fun and practical.2. Students are oriented, driven and centered .3. Highly teacher-students participated and both have fun.4. Physical brain based education focused: lesson

development that engages students in basics of senses: seeing, hearing, speaking, thinking, feeling and plus doing it.

5. Uses laughter and motivation as vehicles for effectively delivering training content to students.

6. Teacher’s primary functions and goals are to transfer his knowledge, others are secondary.

7. Teacher’s perspectives level is lower to share the same difficulties with students.

8. Recognized: - Students learn the most when they are having fun and laughter. - Students learn the most when they are in the most comfortable and daily casual situations.

9. If classroom instruction entertainingly engages, there isn't any mental real estate left over for challenging behavior.

10. If you make your rules fun to follow, students will be more likely to follow your rules. If you make rules intimidated, students will likely be challenging even more.


What is WB Teaching of America ? Characteristics

1. Tomfoolery tasks 1. Fun and laughter2. Powerfully engaged even challenging students.3. Tomfoolery but with intent.

2. Students are frequently checked on for topic or subject engagement.

3. Very simple, but effective laughter and approaches to overcome students’ resistances.

4. No lecture or task that lasts longer than 20-25 minutes. Result in:

- Students are not being tired of and bored by teacher’s short lecture or tasks.

- Spiced up learning, opportunity participation by being highly energetic.


What is WB Teachers of America ? Classroom using WBT is …

1. Full of fun by task-focused laughter. 2. Humor activity and humorous games are used.3. Students become highly energetic with short

concentration and attention lesson spans. 4. Injects after injects fun into the classroom for

1. Wake-Up Calls

“Class” -------- “Yes” “Class, Class, Class” ……Yes, Yes, Yes “Class, Class, Class, UUH” …..“Yes, Yes, Yes, UUH”

2. Score Board.

• We are in a rewarding and punishment systems of society.

• Rewards are to motivate and encourage us repeat the same behaviors. Punishments are to prevent and eliminate the same bad behaviors from it happening again.

• By nature we are also innate with “competiveness”

• Each credit – “You say what” – “Oh! Yes! ”• Each debit – “You say what” – “Oh, No!”


3. Hands and Eyes

What if “wake up calls” failed… • Students pound their hands on table or their

laps shouting “yes…”.• Then, their hands are rested on table and

their eyes are looking straight at the teacher.• Whole class awaits for…Teacher Lecture !


It is time to relax and watch movie again to check on what

techniques we have learned so far.

4. No Left-Out Students(Best of the Best Techniques)

• The name is already implied it.• Here how it works…..– Ask students time…– Ask class for a choice : Review or Teach

on?– “ I am going to “REVIEW ON WHAT I

HAVE BEEN TALKING ABOUT WBT …”– For 5-6 minutes. When done, I will call one

of you to repeat or/ what I have just been said.

6. Micro Lecture

• Lecture is divided in small chunks of lectures.

• Check and re-check students for their grasps during a 20-25 minute lecture

• Students repeat or possibly expand on whatever teacher has recently been said.


7. A Hero’s Applause

• Look up for a role model • Motivate class• Make a difference• Make a good example• Get students refreshed and alerted.


8. Take Breaths1. Lecture seems endless and you want a break for students 2. As a punishment tool as to when students get sluggish or have signs

of not being co-operated.3. To start the techniques: Let’s play one of your childhood games -

who is able to hold breath longest?4. End Results: Have students blood circulated getting them alerted

11. Mirror – Mimic Gestures( advanced level)

There are three kinds of gestures: -- casual: these are hand motions that come

naturally while speaking -- graphic: match your gestures to exactly

what you are saying. -- memory: these gestures are linked to core

concepts and/or state standards.

Every memory gesture should be unique.

Four brain activities are involved, seeing (motor cortex), speaking (Broca’s area), hearing (auditory cortex) and expressing by doing (motor cortex).


Final Words

1. Is WBT simple ? Rookie – Associate - Skilled level .

2. Why FREE ? - I am indebted to myself for

doing something meaningful to my life.

- When I do something that benefit for someone. Then, I myself feel transcended into the above all.
