ICT for creating

During semester 1, the students participated in the online Cyber Safety program Budd:e.This program helps the students to develop understandings about the risks people take bygoing online, and the possible consequences of those risks. Its also education about thetechnical and behavioural measures !e can all use, to help reduce our risk, and bolster onlinesecurity " security for people, for internet devices, and for personal data.

The students have used ICT tools to create information products designed to inform, persuade,entertain or educate particular audiences. The students have e#plored Microsoft Publisherto create a brochure about being a safe a responsible digital citi$en.

The students e#plored the !eb %.& tool Photo Peach to create photo slidesho!s !hichreflected their e#periences at the 'r ( Camp and e#cursion to C)*)S. The students !erethen able to embed their slidesho!s into their personal +log.

The students have been learning to manage their files using simple !ays of organising themfor easy retrieval for e#ample, creating folders based on topics or forms such as stories,images, and pro-ects. They compare their systems !ith those of other students and

ackno!ledge and accept different approaches that !ork for the user.

The students have made ongoing modifications to their !ork to correct the spelling offrequently used !ords and to rectify simple formatting errors.

ICT for communicating

Students continue to develop their skills in using ICT to communicate kno!ledge bye#changing email messages !ith others. hen seeking ne! information on topics ofimportance or interest in all areas of the curriculum, students apply a set of procedures /suchas simple key !ords0 for locating information on the intranet and the Internet.
