t the 2009 SEMA Show, 10,603 buyers filled the aisles looking for the latest mobile-electronics products and innovations. To satisfy their appetites, 102 exhibitors in the mobile-electronics section turned attendees on to the new-est gadgets driving the custom audio, video and portable

infotainment accessories industry. Buyers were clearly interested in grab-bing information on the latest technologies and accessories, scanning the barcodes of mobile-electronics products registered in the New Products Showcase more than 4,500 times during the Show.

Brian Nobuyuki put his barcode reader to test, scanning the Showcase for gear that would soon fill the shelves of Custom Car Alarms, a retailer located in Pleasant Hills, California.

“We do all sorts of mobile electronics. We’re here looking for the latest trends that relate to our business but also other products that we don’t sell so that we can keep in the know,” said Nobuyuki. “A lot of our guys are hobbyists as well, so we like to see even some of the products that we don’t carry. We’ve seen some new lighting products as well as new audio products. We always try to come to the New Products Showcase because it’s like the greatest hits of the SEMA Show.”
