SHARC is the umbrella organisation to 4 different programs. Below is an outline of each. Please state which program you would like to volunteer for.

1. Recovery Support ServiceRSS is a peer based supported accommodation service for young people aged 16 to 25 who are experiencing severe problems related to their use of alcohol and other drugs. RSS offer physical, mental and emotional support to all participants. RSS provides a homelike, safe and supportive living environment and a community where we create authentic recovery opportunities. This position requires the candidate to have a lived experience of personal recovery.For further information please look at our website: www.sharc.org.au

2. Assocation of Participating Service UsersAPSU believes that people who use alcohol and other drug services have a wealth ofexperience and knowledge to contribute. APSU works collaboratively with key stateholders to increase community participation in drug treatment and care provider systems. APSU works collaboratively with services in the setting up and delivery of consumer participation projects. This position requires the candidate to have a lived experience of personal recovery.For further information please look at our website: www.apsuonline.org.au

3. Family Drug HelpFamily Drug Help recognises that alcohol and other drug use within the family can be overwhelming. FDH offers family and friends support, information, education and inspiration. There is a telephone helpline that is staffed by trained volunteers who have a lived experience. Our support groups across Victoria are also places where family members can go to gain support, share information and knowledge with others who are experiencing similar situations. Volunteers are encourages to partipcate in group facilitation. This position requires the candidate to have a lived experience of a family member with problematic substance use.For further information look at our website: www.familydrughelp.com

4. AdministrationThis position is primarily responsible for selected administration tasks. The role provides admin support to the Administration Coordinator, and is two hour afternoon shift on week days. Volunteers may negotiate to do between 2-5 days per week. This position includes a range of duties that assist in the day to day running of SHARC. This position does not require the candidate to have a lived experience.
