It’s all in the details
Last winter, a couple booked a four-day self-drive tour around the Golden Circle. Driving around Iceland may sound simple enough – after all, the country isn’t very big – but when it comes to first visits to an unpredictable country, there are some details you might not think about when caught up in planning routes, sights, and photo ops.
Everything seemed to be in order – the car was excellent, breakfasts booked, the views spectacular. So, naturally, any traveller would want to phone home. And to make the art of telephoning as smooth as the four-wheel drive, our staff included an Icelandic SIM card along with the itinerary.
The couple couldn’t have been happier – and we’re ready to bet that a number of people overseas got to hear all about their Iceland escapades in real time.
