Additionally tools that measure the casing or tubing i.d. may also need centralising. Centralisers diameters are matched to the body size of the tools with the total number required estimated from the toolstring weight. CCL response is best if these are run eccentred. In the case of high pressure wells where weight bars are required to assist the tools enter the well a rigid toolstring needs excessive centralisation and these are therefore best run eccentred. Knuckle Joints provide toolstring flexibility to allow part of a string to be centred & the rest eccentred.
