MOUNTAIN BRIDGE BRIDGE STUDIESMesa, Arizona

The Mountain Bridge community is a very large master planned development located in Mesa’s east valley. Situated on a large parcel of land bisected by McKellips Road: a heavily trafficked vehicular arterial roadway, this bridge is an important element to tie both sides of this community back together. A series of schematic bridge studies was commissioned to explore various aesthetic choices in order to enrich the engineered unadorned utilitarian concrete bridge and convey the master planned character to the public. The bridge also considered the passage of pedestrian with shaded walkways, community signage opportunities and conformance to all ADOT regulations.
