PROPOSAL PAPERBringing SRU into the DIGITAL AGE
SELANGOR RUGBY UNION
Problems Identified
• No View of the true number active players / referees / coaches in league
• Lack of Statistics and Accurate Data Base of Players
• No formal line of communications to Players / Teams / Affiliates Codes such as touch and women’s rugby
• Coaches are not pro-active / cooperative in the initiative to make the league more structured
What Needs to be Done
1. A space where players can officially register with a club and collect statistics of their playing times and scoring.
2. Identify where the majority of players are located versus where clubs and fields are located.
3. Better coordination and decision making
4. An avenue to cross market other codes of the game in Selangor (7s, Women’s Rugby, Touch Rugby, Children’s Rugby)
5. A space where the public can see what is being done for the sport of rugby

• Use a medium called Sporting Pulse to register players. This utilizes Facebook to pull a persons profile. Which is sufficient to build the initial base.

• With the information collected and categorized, we will be able to determine:

5. Is there a need to make changes to the logistics of the competitions
