Men’s Golf League

Fairview Heights Parks and Recrea on is offering a Men’s Golf League on Thursday evenings at Stonewolf Golf Course. League starts the beginning of May and runs through August with an end of season tournament. League fee is $125 per team. Baseball, breads cks, and beer! Join us for a fun filled day in St. Louis visi ng some of its favorite places. First we will head to Car-dinal Na on located in the Famous Ball Park Village, while there we will go on a self guided tour through the Cardinals Hall of Fame and Museum. See game used memorabilia and other amazing ar facts. Once we have walked down memory lane, we will head to the Old SpagheS Factory for a fantas c lunch. Every lunch will include a salad, fresh bread, an entrée, and their delicious spumoni ice cream. AGer we have had our fill we will head to the Anheuser Busch Brewery for a tour to see and hear how the beloved Bud-weiser beer is made. I hear they give out free samples at the end!

Senior Swim

All swim cards expire as of December 31, 2015. Fairview Heights residents who are 55 years and older can a@end Aqua exercise classes at the Downtown YMCA center. You must obtain a Swim I.D. card before you may begin. This card will allow you to a@end two classes per week. You will need to visit our office to purchase your swim card for 2016. Please call 489-2040 for addi onal infor-ma on. You must prove residency with a valid I.D. when purchas-ing your card.

You’ve got a friend in Fairview Heights Parks & Recrea on! Join us on a trip down memory lane to see Beau ful, the Carole King musi-cal at the Fabulous Fox Theatre. This wonderful musical tells the story of legendary songwriter Carole King and her rise to stardom. Songs to be performed will be “I Feel the Earth Move” “One fine day” “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman” “You’ve Got A Friend” and the tle song “Beau ful”.

The Fairview Heights Parks & Recrea on is sponsoring the annual Carl Evans Memorial Basketball League. This league is open to boys and girls in grades 1st-4th. Children will be assigned to teams ac-cording to grade (1st & 2nd graders in one league and 3rd & 4th graders in another league). Volunteer Coaches are needed! Please let us know if you would be willing to step up and help out. (All coaches must pass a back-ground check) We are looking for dependable parents that want to be proac ve in their child’s recrea onal development to be volun-teer coaches. The goal of our program is for the children to learn the basics of basketball, encourage good sportsmanship and give all children in the community a chance to interact with each other.

CraRy Kids Ages 6-12

This program will teach the fundamentals of Football in a safe and controlled seSng. Children will learn how to properly throw and catch a football as well as learn about different posi ons. Come grab a flag and run for the end zone!

Ages 4-6

This program will introduce boys and girls to the fundamentals of basketball in a non-compe ve seSng. This class will help your child develop social skills such as listening and following direc ons as well as hand eye coordina on. On a mini court children will learn the basics using a size appropriate ball and lowered nets. We will play a scrimmage on the last day. Classes will be held in the Illini School Gym.

Mini All Stars Ages 4-6

Give your child a chance to play several different sports and find out where they shine! Each week we will learn the fundamentals of a different sport. Sports to be learned are Tennis, Kickball, Vol-leyball, Soccer, Hockey and Basketball. Classes will be held in the Illini School Gym.

Tennis benefits children physically and mentally. They not only burn calories but also improve cardio, bone strength and coordina- on. Children will learn discipline, strategic thinking and sports-manship. We’ll develop the skills needed for beginner tennis. Classes are held in the Illini School Gym.

Indoor Soccer Ages 6-8

Boys and girls don’t hang those shin guards up just yet, we have an indoor soccer camp just for you. In this camp we will broaden skills, help develop coordina on and have fun each week playing scrimmage games. Because we will be indoors, cleats are not al-lowed, but shin guards are strongly encouraged. Camp will be held in the Illini School Gym.
