He'd also like to give a big, special thank you to his parents and his In The Heights family for their neverending love and support.

PRODUCTION TEAMCARA GABRIEL (Director) has been an Assistant Professor of Theatre at American University since 2002. There, she has directed over 20 productions, including The Caucasian Chalk Circle, Lysistrata, Our Country’s Good, Machinal, Ubu Rex, The Rocky Horror Show, The Rez Sisters, The Threepenny Opera, and A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum. In the DC area, Gabriel has worked with Rorschach Theatre, Source Theatre Festival, The Potomac Theatre Project at Olney Theatre Center, the Smithsonian Institute’s Discovery Theatre, Ford’s Theatre, and The Kennedy Center. She has been performing her one woman show, I AM THE GENTRY, which depicts her life in a transitional DC neighborhood, to sold-out crowds and stellar reviews since 2013, when it was presented as part of the Atlas Intersections Festival. Gabriel has also performed GENTRY at The EXIT Theatre in San Francisco, Capital Fringe Festival, and the United Solo festival on Theatre Row in New York City. Gabriel is currently working on a book of the same title. Her next projects include producing the WomXn on Fire Festival at Keegan Theatre, and a run of I AM THE GENTRY with Post Shift Theatre. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Middlebury College, a master’s degree from Northwestern University, and a PhD from The University of Michigan.

STEPHANIE WILSON (Assistant Director) is an actor, singer, and dancer based in Washington, DC. Previously at Adventure Theatre, she understudied the role of Ella in Ella Enchanted, and currently she is understudying the role of #2 in The Wolves at Studio Theatre. Stephanie received her BA in Musical Theatre from American University in 2016.

ASHLEIGH KING (Choreographer) Has primarily been seen as a performer on DC theatre stages. Including here, at ATMTC, in Pinkilicious, and in the 2012 production of Alexander... Also having appeared in many productions at Olney Theatre Center, The Kennedy Center, Ford’s, and Signature Theatre. A product of Dancensations and the Dance Theatre of Harlem residency program; she has been mentored and trained by Debbie Allen, Mark Marino, Frank Hatchett, Troy Brown, and Gloria Hampton, among others. A special thank you to Michael Bobbitt, for being the most recent source of guidance and providing this opportunity.

WILLIAM YANESH (Music Director, Orchestrator) has music directed many productions at Adventure Theatre MTC, including Winnie-the-Pooh, Goodnight Moon, Miss Nelson is Missing!, Oliver!, and Garfield: The Musical with Cattitude, as well as composing the score to Caps for Sale and The Cat in the Hat. His other DC music direction credits include Jesus Christ Superstar andThe Last Five Years at Signature Theatre, Ordinary Days and The Nutcracker at Round House Theatre, and Floyd Collins at 1st Stage. BA in Music Composition from Carnegie Mellon University.

APRIL JOY VESTER (Scenic Designer) is excited to be working with Adventure Theatre for the first time. She has designed shows in and around the D.C. area and in New York. Her credits include Little Women (Annapolis Opera), Sister Act (ASGT), La Boheme/Die Fledermaus (Martina Arroyo Foundation), Pullman, WA (Universe Players 2), and Shrek the Musical (Chalice Theatre). April Joy has a masters degree in scenic design from the University of Maryland and one in architecture from the University of Utah.

JEANNETTE CHRISTENSEN (Costume Designer) is pleased to be making her Adventure Theater debut. Jeannette is a third year MFA costume design candidate at the University of Maryland and had several design opportunities including The Call (Dir. Eleanor Holdridge), The Importance of Being Earnest (Dir. Amber Mcginnis), and Clove (Dir. Paige Hernandez). Jeannette has worked as a costume design assistant with Wolf Trap Opera, Olney Theater Center, Studio Theater, and The Kennedy Center. JASON ARNOLD (Lighting Designer) has designed for Adventure Theatre MTC for 10 years. His designs include Junie B. Jones is Not a Crook, Caps for Sale, Petite Rouge, 5 Little Monkeys, Big Nate, Stuart Little, and The 12 Days of Christmas. He has designed at many local theatre companies, including Imagination Stage, Arena Stage, The Shakespeare Theatre, Theatre J, Rep Stage, Studio Theatre, and Constellation Theatre. Mr. Arnold is an Artist in Residence at American University.

GORDON NIMMO-SMITH (Sound Designer) is thrilled to be working at Adventure Theatre for the first time. Recent local sound designs include Parade and Mack, Beth (Keegan Theatre), The Man Who, and The River (Spooky Action Theatre); Little Thing, Big Thing (Solas Nua), Master Class, Fully Committed, Blackberry Daze, Black Pearl Sings, and Shake Loose (Metrostage); Static (Source Festival); Be Awesome:A Theatrical Mixtape of the 90s, and You or Whatever I Can Get (Flying V). ANDREA “DRE” MOORE (Properties & Puppets Designer) has made theatrical properties her career for 15 years and has been a theatre technician for more years than she cares to admit. APRIL E. CARTER (Stage Manager) is very excited to be returning to ATMTC. She is a native Washingtonian who grew up in Columbia, Maryland where she began her theatre life at Toby Orenstein’s Columbia School of Theatrical Arts. Some of her credits include James and The Giant Peach, The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, Thoroughly Modern Millie Jr.,(ATMTC) Flower’s Stink (Kennedy Center TYA), Avenue Q (Constellation Theatre), The Nether (Wooly Mammoth), An Octoroon (Wooly Mammoth), The Shipment (Forum Theatre) to name a few. April also served as our stage manager for the ATMTC Summer Camp. She received her B.F.A. in Theatre with a concentration in Musical Theatre from Howard University.
