The Dayco Poly-V belt in EPDM (Ethylene-Propylene-Diene-Monomers) guarantee strength, reliability, low noise and long service life. TECHNICAL BULLETINFORD RANGER & MAZDA BT-50

3.2L, P5AT ENGINE, OIL & FILTER REPLACEMENTWhile replacing the oil and filter on the 3.2L Ford Ranger and Mazda BT-50, care must be taken to ensure the oil pump does not drain of oil. Due to the design of the variable-flow oil pump, if the oil pump drains of oil it will not be able to prime itself again. It is recommended that oil is not left to drain for more than 10 minutes or the oil pump may drain also.

FRAM recommends the following steps to ensure a smooth serviceComplete steps 1-5 within 10 minutes

1. Remove the sump plug and drain the dirty oil.2. Remove the old oil filter from the housing and replace with a new FRAM CH11673 oil filter.3. Replace the sump plug washer and refit sump plug.4. Fill with new oil.5. Start the engine to get oil flowing again. The oil warning light should go off within 5

seconds. (If the oil light does not go off there is a good possibility the pump may havedrained all the oil and will require priming.)

6. Finally, ensure the oil level is ok.
